Was looking for a pet-friendly motel in Anaconda, and while they don't advertise themselves as such, the owner was willing to work with us. Owner, Roger, was very friendly and hospitable.||||While the rooms are a bit on the small side and older (probably built in the mid-seventies), they're impeccably maintained and comfortable. The entire property was very clean - a sharp contrast to other hotel/motels in Anaconda. The location is very convenient with a beautiful park just across the street. A mini-fridge in the room was a nice bonus for dinner's leftovers.||||Showers were great with plenty of hot water. Beds were a bit on the firm side but still comfortable. Linens were clean, and housekeeping staff was attentive. Was a bit discouraged that there was no hot tub, but with Fairmont Hot Springs just a few minutes away, it really wasn't an issue. Wireless internet was exceptionally fast with great reception through the entire motel.||||Continental breakfast was a bit of joke with just donuts and cold cereal but the coffee was hot and fresh every morning. For a more robust breakfast, consider Doniven's Family Diner about 5 minutes south, also on Park St. Pizza and burgers at the Classic Diner was also great. Old Works Golf Course is just 5 minutes away as well.||||Great combination of service, value and comfort. Will definitely be returning for ski season.
What a rip-off for 74.00. The room was filthy. The beds on hair on the sheets. The rug hasn't been clean in ages. The bathroom sink was filthy. I had to clean the night stand myself as it had a drink spilled on it. Gross. My husband and I slept on top of the bed. Never again.
The owners were nice, but the room was very dungie and couldnt sleep in it. Felt like I needed a shower just walking in there. The ceiling was cracked and sagging, looked dirty, the shower around edges need scrubbed. We ended up staying at another hotel.
I am NOT a hotel snob! A clean room, bed/shower is all I require. This hotel had neither! Upon arrival both of our beds had to be made (obviously not done before check-in), blood on sheets and crumbs in the other. The stench in the connected rooms we had was unbearable. TV was broken, several outlets did not work. Forget wifi! I would not recommend the Vagabond to anyone! I feel bad for the elderly couple that own it but seriously... time to give it up! The only upside - close to the bowling alley, C store/Subway and a grocery store.
The place is way outdated...room 47 the tub is flaking off and the cold water control didnt work either you took a really hot shower or really cold no happy medium needs to b fixed and tub looked gross so wouldnt take a bath disappointing. Sheets were dirty and the 100 year old carpet needs cleaned or better yet torn out and new put in. The whole place needs a facelift good luck to the old old people trying to run it. And the price was way to high to what you got. Sad. Will never be back 😔
I researched lodging in this town more than a month before our visit and was impressed by the gentleman I talked to when I called. In this case, the charm was only on the phone. The list of disappointments include poorly supported bedframe which tilted toward the head, badly stained carpet (one of the pet units), and a 17" flat screen TV which had a remote that only changed channels, not power or sound. We asked for ice and I waited for the wife to empty a traditional ice tray from which deftly picked one with her fingers for her glass of water. Perhaps I'll forego charming phone manners next time I make reservations on a landline!
It is old motel, it does need work, and not everything works like it should - that said - none of this matters! Staying her was great for us. We are born amd raised Montanans, both from Butte so take what we say from that point of view. During checkin the oners (mom and son?) Were in the lobby with thier pups listening to a gentleman play folk/country music on his guitar in the lobby. It was - exactly what you would expect for the area and for a family run small business. The owners are very friendly and very helpful, the rooms are clean, but not fancy. There was a fridge, a microwave, and a TV. It is what it is... an old hotel owned by folks who love what they do and seem to truly hope you enjoy your stay.
Very nice place. Rooms are well furnished and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Owners were very nice and pleasant to talk with. Will definitely be staying here again. A great experience. If your looking for a quite place in a great location this is the place.
We had an amazing ski weekend at Sugar Loaf Lodge. Our cabin had beautiful rustic charm and was so cozy, warm and comfortable. The spiral staircase to get to the loft was a cool throwback and the views from the loft were amazing! The location is i
OMG!! This is one of the nicest parks I've ever been to. Amazing stream runs through it. Gravel and paved foot paths. They have horseshoes, a duck pond; well two that I have found, baseball fields, a nice pool, several playgrounds, amazing campfire p
Dog friendly is always a plus. Came to town and didn't have a reservation for here, but luckily they had some cancellations and we were able to get a room.
Breakfast was hot, fresh, and delicious, made from scratch. Service was top notch and very he
Had a very enjoyable time minus check-in.
Check-in is 4pm which is a hour later than most hotels which is fine but we were unable to check in until 5:30pm. It's nice that you can swim right away but to have a room to get set up in after a drive would
