Best Hostel I have seen in awhile. It checks all the boxes. Historic building, central location, great staff and chill vibe. My only negative comment is to beware of the pizza place next door.

I have nothing good things to say about this place! The staff was uber friendly and explained everything so thoroughly. The room was clean, roomies were respectful, the restroom was clean, and the location is perfect! I'm a huge fan of the bar below so this was just great.
Rooms are a bit smelly. Only place to chill is either your room or the small parlor. Staff are friendly and helpful Location is awesome right on the bar strip. Easy access to train and buses.
Second time staying here and I love it. My go-to hostel when in town. Friendly staff, great location and comfy rooms. Bathrooms and showers are spacious and clean too.
I loved the vibe here, very intimate and cozy with the cute decor, carpeting, and bright colors. We stayed in a private bunk room with shared bathroom and enjoyed it. Good music always playing. Reception staff was very friendly, and the location is in the middle of the Gaslamp District, can't be beat. I wish we'd had time to join in some of the social activites, but it was a quick two nights. I'd stay again if I were ever in San Diego!
Do not choose this hostel if you have difficulty with steps. There are many of them and they are steep. That said, I love staying here even though I use a cane.
