The US Cavalry Museum is amazing. We took a tour and loved it. I only wish I had more time to see some of the stuff around the museum as well.
They have recently remodeled and they have done a fantastic job. The staff knows so many interesting details about the history of the cavalry, the army and the items in the museum.
We had a great time.
Everyone was so nice and the museum was great. If you live history, our military and our country, this is a must see!

Well curated museum of US Cavalry history. Two floors of exhibits take you through Cavalry history from before the US was a nation, and all through the major and minor conflicts Cavalry has been involved with. Also don’t miss the Custer House and a walk around all the tracks, artillery, and military vehicles around the museum. The parade grounds nearby is still used for change of command ceremonies. Free admission.
What a great place to spend some time on a hot afternoon. It was around 100 degrees and we were out driving around and one of my kids in the military stationed there said she knew where it was, but had never been. Very pleasant and nice AC.
If you love history and military, this is the greatest place to visit. Trace the history of the US cavalry from revolution. Very beautiful and great atmosphere in there. In my opinion, this is the greatest place to learning about history for children. Unfortunately, the museum is closed. I don't know because of covid or not. I really wish they will open soon.

What is the purpose of this museum? Or better yet, what has the Army come to? We were at Ft. Riley twice. The first time was for our son's funeral arrangements. I wanted to visit the museum but was told it was always closed. A Sargent Major said he would get it open for us next week when we came back for the memorial service. Came back for the memorial service and it was still closed. So what has the Army come to when a Sargent Major can't even get them to open the museum? If the museum is never going to be open, go ahead and burn it down.
Very detailed and well curated museum. Definitely one of the neatest things we did on our visit to KS. if you're a military history buff, this is a don't miss.

This is an excellent gym with everything you need for a great workout. They have excellent cardio section, great selection of kettlebells and dumbbells and numerous squat racks. There is also a small room where you can do calisthenics and stretching
