I had a great, trying, enlightening, and all around amazing experience learning welding for the last 9 months. The instructors were so experienced and knowledgeable and always kept me and my classmates on the right path every step of the way. The cafeteria is a must visit (order the mozzarella sticks with fries and the SAUCE!) the faculty gave me nothing but respect as an adult the same as i gave them, and when i finally walked across that floor at graduation i felt proud to come out of UTI an experienced welder from the first class watching videos of cautionary tales from the field, to my first weld bead, the porosity 💀💀💀 the T-joints, Beveled groove welds, Learning stick and mig to blueprints to RELEARNING, to conquering my first pipe weld. The memories will stay forever and on behalf of myself and my graduating class, THANK YOU UTI!!

Current student here. Do not come to this school. Waste of money and waste of time. Teachers are lazy and don’t teach. Educational managers act as if they are prison guards. Student services is horrible and never answer any phones. The EM Paul g is a racist. Goodluck you have been Warned DO NOY SIGN UP AT THIS SCHOOL. The bathrooms in both buildings are fit for pigs. It smells so bad and they are so dirty. The school is supposed to have fully stocked snap on tools in every toolbox, THEY DONT . The have them stocked with harbor freight tools. It’s a joke this school and after paying 50k for your schooling they will get you a job that starts at 15$ an hour. JOKE I WISH I COULD GIVE 0 stars.

So I decided to go out of my own way and request a certain Saturday off from my job in order to attend one of Universal Technical Institute's open houses or campus tours. I've been looking for ways to supplement my current income, as well as I had been entertaining the thought of a possible career change. While I like my current job, it's not enough to live on one's own. And it just feels like in the coming years, more employers are looking for you to have those technical knowledge. Although it wasn't as much of a shock to my system than if I had gone there completely "blind", and without having done other prior things to begin breaking the ice, I wasn't convinced that anyone just enroll in an institution like that. At the very least, not without very carefully considering everything in their own situation. While my admissions representatives seemed respectful and courteous enough, I always just got the feeling that my severe lack of knowledge and experience in that field would be held against me. The classrooms seemed well equipped for their purposes, and I damn hope that the instructors really care about their students and success, but especially that second part is just running on a lot of hope and faith. What really hit the last nail in the coffin for me was the ridiculous amount that the tuition was estimated at. Who honestly has money like that lying around? You could buy yourself a new vehicle with that kind of money. And even if you did qualify for financial aid, it likely doesn't cover the entire amount and you'll still be left with some balance, having to pay out of pocket. Be absolutely sure this is the career path you want to follow, before you possibly waste a year or more of your life, and be in debt, again, for tens of thousands of dollars. Every student they can get enrolled with them is just more money lining their pockets (just like another vocational and technical school that I don't want to have to name here). It's beyond a travesty that they just take unfair advantage of all these young people trying to get ahead in life. And it's equally unfair that they do the same to older prospective students such as myself who are trying to reinvent themselves and either start a new career, or look for ways to supplement their income. I believe that knowledge should be shared, and not gatekeeped to a paywall. Here's a few genuine tips. And you can take it from someone who was unfortunate enough to have been screwed out of his money in the past. You might be surprised at the amount of content you can find on YouTube in regards to help for just about any topic. And you can always watch and rewatch those videos for FREE. I also have taken a few courses on Udemy when they were on sale at a huge discount. If you have a family member or friend who is knowledgeable in a certain topic, you don't have to hesitate to ask them if you're comfortable doing so. I even bought and downloaded a game called Car Mechanic Simulator on my Xbox, and I learned a few things through there. Bottom line: UTI is just another for-profit institution. How else would the staff and faculty get paid, right? If you just want to know how to better care and maintain your own vehicle, there are plenty of other resources available to you that won't cause you to go broke. Pros: +Well equipped and intuitive classrooms that allow the students get more hands on and apply what they are learning. Maybes: "Seemingly" caring instructors and staff who are knowledgeable and current in their fields and want their students to succeed. But then again, looks can be deceiving. And remember that evil has the ability to assume a pleasing shape... Cons: -Tuition is ridiculously overpriced. Especially considering that you can find similar content at many other sources at no charge or a fraction of the cost. -Difficult to get to campus if you live far away and don't have access to your own vehicle.

School is terrible . Teachers don’t really teach you , they just look at you at you and expect you to know everything . 3 hrs of class only . 30 min breaks , an hr of YouTube videos and 1 hr of “hands on” . If you are confused for the whole , the next day you’re more confused bc you move on to a whole different topic . Save ya money and time

Amazing tour. Wish I could afford to attend. Robin H was great and extremely helpful in answering any questions and concerns I had she was nothing but help. As a suggestion, they really should make a pay as you go option. For example a course should be available for purchase. Where you receive a certificate for completing the actual course. Depending on the complexity of the course would determine the price of said course. As a lot of school's are offering certificate courses. Most people can't afford the high tuition price. I would definitely attend if they opened up the facility to certain pay as you go course's. Again great campus and people, unfortunately it's just not affordable for me at this time. Thanks, Kevin A Newark NJ

If anybody was truly wondering if they should go here I recommend you don’t please save your time and money and here is why I took it upon myself to get the answer every body is looking for. I read the reviews for this school and every bad review you read is a very honest review from what I saw with my own two eyes. After I applied I went to 3 days of orientation they are going to ask you for your last name than give you a folder with all your financial aid paperwork than you are going to walk up to second floor where there will be a line of upcoming students with the same folder as you are on the line you are going to walk pass two classrooms I looked in both classrooms. (Classroom)1 Classroom 1 had a many students on their phones playing and fidgeting with car parts like 3rd graders the teacher hasn’t spoken since I walked in. (Classroom)2 had many students doing absolutely nothing but walking around and steering at the board while the teacher sat on his computer. So I asked one of the students if they like it here before I signed those papers giving them legal permission to take 40-50k from me the student didn’t waste anytime and said it was a scam off the back he didn’t sugar coat it one bit. They aren’t going to tell you they want you to sign those papers so you can’t back out when you realize it’s a scam. After hearing and seeing this information I immediately left the building and never came back. Moral of the story YouTube can teach you better than this for free and they are just there for a check every student that signs this paper is money in their pocket promise!.

This school is an absolute scam!!! Instructors just show up for a check. There is no support when it comes to life after UTI. Initially, I joined the school for the diesel program. I was told I needed to take basic auto courses before starting my diesel courses. A couple months into the school I was informed I was never signed up for the diesel program. Which was an error on their behalf. I am still expected to pay for all of those auto courses (in which I will receive no credit for) and I was compensated by being charged the original price for the diesel program when I first signed up. This school is extremely unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't looking to waste their money.

Here several times. The Pizza is terrific, the food is very good and the drinks are very good. Love the ambience of the Rabbit Room. Brought friends here, but will be a little bit less because of the ADDED COST of the CREDIT CARD FEE.
