Union River Lobster Pot - Featured Reviews (999)
We loved it here! Had about a half hour wait, but it’s so close to town we just did a little walk then sat and looked at the river. The traditional lobster roll was fantastic and the poutine was fun to try, but probably wouldn’t do it again (can’t compare to a lobster dinner or roll). The blueberry pie was incredible!! Huge portion, and must get with ice cream.
Visiting from out of town and this stop was a must based on the reviews. We arrived before the restaurant opened and had a friendly conversation in the parking lot with who we later realized was the owner. Best lobster roll we had on our visit in the area with friendly and fast service. My wife had the lobster Cobb salad, both the salad and roll came with a huge portion of lobster on it. I will have dreams about this from Pittsburgh!
Lobster Pot was an unintended and fantastic choice for us. We were traveling and ended up eating later than expected. Thankfully, this amazing place was open and happy to serve. The food was great, staff and owner were amazingly friendly, and hubby got lobster. 😁 We would definitely go again. Yay for happenstance!
We arrived when they opened. It was a rainy day, so we ate indoors. We like to eat early because (in many restaurants) we find it easier to have a conversation before the establishment is full. In this case, dining room was spacious, with high ceilings and plenty of seating. By the time we left, all of the tables were taken. Still, we didn’t find it too noisy.
My husband ordered a glass of wine, a 2.5 pound lobster, and French fries. Our meal arrived well after the food at the two other tables where the orders were taken at the same time. The waitress explained that the delay was because of the size of the lobster— it took much longer to cook. It appears that it was worth it. My husband said the lobster was exceptionally good.
I had a salad with Cajun seasoned salmon with a small serving of tasty fruit chutney on top. Perhaps because the lobster had taken so long, my meal may have been waiting for a while so our dinners could be served together. I was expecting hot salmon on a bed of lettuce. It was just barely warm.
Our total came to $75 including tip. (They were having a special on the 2.5 pound lobsters.)
After my review was posted, I received a message from the owner asking me to speak up in future if everything was not precisely as I expected, and they would take care of it. I believe he was sincere, and would advise others to do the same.
This place is really awesome! We had to wait 30 minutes before the table was ready, but they have an outdoor, river front backyard with tiki bar were we could hang out while waiting. Food was very good! You can see the place were they boil the lobsters from the parking lot. Totally a 5 star rating!
Ah, the Union River Lobster Pot! Where dining dreams come true and time flies by - or maybe it's the other way around? We arrived promptly at 7:10pm, ready to dive into some succulent seafood, and were greeted with the promise of a 20-25 minute wait. Little did we know, we were actually booking tickets to a 58-minute mosquito-buffet show outside!
The staff must have mistaken us for marine biologists, keen to study the local mosquito species up close and personal. I must say, the open-air waiting area is quite innovative, especially if you want to donate a pint of blood before dinner.
When we finally took our seats at 8:08pm, the anticipation was palpable. I was half-expecting a red carpet rolled out with our lobster dinner. But alas, it was a regular evening with regular seafood, a perfect ending to our adventure in time dilation.
So if you're ever in the mood to experience lobster and a complimentary mosquito tasting, the Union River Lobster Pot is the place for you! But if you prefer your seafood without the side of insect interaction, you may find that there are plenty of fish in the sea... and other restaurants too.
I had a lobster steam pot. The steamers are clams, not seaweed. The lobster pot comes with a potato and an ear of corn in the pot. Everything was great. I can't wait to come back for more. Parking was a little tight and we had to use the overflow parking lot behind the restaurant and down the hill. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table, but they let you order drinks at the cash register and you can enjoy the drinks outside by the river while you wait for a text message notifying you that your table is ready.
Pictures: 1.25lb lobster dinner, fried lobster roll, cheese curds, blueberry pie. (Also got a clam chowder).
(Went back a second time): Traditional lobster roll and lobster poutine. Strawberry pie.
Food was great and noticeably better than a lot of venues closer to/on the island. Pricing was as anticipated. The cheese curds were awesome. The blueberry pie was also great even when we got it just outside of season. Service was also excellent and friendly.
Important notes:
- you will have to wait at peak time but you can chill in their cute little beer garden
- decent beer selection
- try the cheese curds and lobster poutine if you have to get a starter

Fun place for the antique candle pin bowling experience. Owner was super nice and there were lots of personal touches to our reservation. We stumbled upon this hidden gem while we were staying close by. Would recommend for a fun family trip or date n
Had a great time at branch lake today. Small, sandy beach. Water is clear all the way to the bottom. Lots of kids jumping off large rocks. Had no trouble finding parking in the lot although many parked alongside the road to the path to the beach. The
The staff are super friendly, the venue is cute and very clean, the pricing is fair, portions are very generous, and they were accommodating to a slightly modified order.

Staffed and furnished perfectly for a theme of retro dining. Everything was absolutely delicious, down to the water with lemon and a giant bottle of cholula for my home fries!

Just a convenient, utilitarian shopping center...no frills but clean. The parking lot isn't all stove up, the spaces are plentiful and convenient.
