Amazing place. This is the hidden gem of Old Hickory. Coffee is the best ever. Forget overpriced, impersonal chains, and try something incredible. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming to all. You'll only be sorry if you drive by and miss the incredible experience you never knew coffee could be .

There was an argument between a customer and employee. Not sure how it started? But the vulgar language was only heard from the employee. She was using bad language. With that said i didn't have abt any problem with her as was very nice to me. But the bad language we all heard should have been avoided..

Awesome place to support your local coffee shop. People are friendly and if you can't afford something, they will help you out. Seriously! Their coffee comes from a local roaster too. Love supporting my community.

I love supporting small business, so when I discovered uncommon grounds I was excited. Being one out of 2 locally owned shops in the hermitage/ old hickory area I gave it a try. I must admit I'm a coffee lover/snob. ( I prefer crema/barista parlor) The coffee here (I tried Joshua's revenge) was very similar to something you can find at Starbucks. The pricing is also similar. The atmosphere was very quiet and cozy. Definitely a good place for conversation. Service is a little slow. But over all it wasn't a bad place. I can't say I'll be going here regularly but if someone was in the area I would recommend it.

First of all I want to say that I was very disappointed in the experience I encountered at Uncommon Grounds. We booked a private event a month prior to the date for my daughter's baby shower. I thought because it was a paid event, it would be an exclusive to our guests. My mistake in not asking, as that ended up not being the case. We arrived and the floors were disgusting. I personally had to sweep the entire place before guests arrived. I have never rented a venue before and encountered this experience. Not sure when another party arrived, yet they were given a table to eat at by the front entrance, rather than being asked to come back at another time. I was told by the owner that this person was accommodated based on their being a singer/songwriter of a popular song in the seventies. Hmm, so are you telling me this person was more important to cater to than the one who paid for a private event in your establishment? That to me was totally unprofessional and disrespectful to my daughter and our family. I wonder what would have happened if the roles were reversed and this songwriter had booked a private event? The friend who referred me to this place perceived that the owner was getting antsy towards last 45 minutes of the event; which caused my daughter to feel rushed in opening gifts given to her by friends and family. Not only will I not be back to this establishment, I will definitely not refer it to anyone looking for a place to celebrate an event of this nature that is near and dear to family.

More than just a small, neighborhood, everyone-knows-everyone local coffee shop, it's an open mic venue, with simple breakfasts and brunches, custom coffee grinding for home use, and spiritual/religious/community meeting space.

Good coffee. Haven't eaten there yet. If you're in Old Hickory... It's got a drive through. I'll definetly find time to eat there soon.

It was a beautiful day and the leaves are changing!! It’s rather dry so the mosquitoes are not too pesky. And we saw a beautiful little green snake!! The leaf on our dog’s head just gently wafted down and landed just where you see it!
