Uncle Charlie's Bistro - Bistro in Chestertown - 834 High St, USA

After trying to go to another local restaurant, where we were turned away because of being a 6 top...we found Uncle Charlie's. At Uncle Charlie's, we were greeted with open arms and sat immediately. Everything was amazing from drinks to dinner! The Washington Riesling was very nice...great peach notes and not too acidic. We had a variety of items: The delicious crab pasta, amazing shrimp scampi, Charlie's burger, Ahi Tuna salad with the best dressing ever, ceasar salad, onion rings and kid mozzerella sticks. We all finished every last bite!! Thank you to the staff for being so friendly! Emily was an amazing server, too!! Definitely recommend this treasure!

I will start off by saying EMILY is just AMAZING. Watching her manage taking care of a very full restaurant, basically by herself, you couldn't ask for better customer service. Despite being extremely busy, she managed to touch each table repeatedly to ensure the customers were happy. She deserves a raise for sure. Great job, Emily!!! Unfortunately, the food, especially my dish, was disappointing, and no, I did not say anything at the restaurant. It was my error by not asking if the salmon is fresh. Unfortunately, it was definitely a frozen product and very unappealing. This is a seafood area, so with the salmon not being fresh, it definitely is reflected in the overall product. In addition, the "wild rice" lacked any flavor, as well as tasting old. The vegetable medley was good, but veggies were way overcooked. Fried calamari appeared to be frozen as well, which was also a disappointment. My daughter enjoyed the shrimp scampi, and my husband had the pork sandwich. He also said he enjoyed it. The complimentary bread was never served, but Emily was very busy. They would do well to train the bus staff to ensure this makes it to tables, in addition to helping Emily refresh drinks, etc. Overall, despite my disappointing dinner, the customer service would bring me back.

Got lucky veggie of the day was my favorite: Broccolinici. Also was build your burger night which I also love so I made an awesome bacon cheese burger with a the good stuff they even had the grilled mushroom that I love in burgers !!! I made one photo per burger layer lol to make a gif maybe one day lol. All fresh never frozen according to the friendly owner who came out to check on different customers including myself. I tipped a little more so they offered me the second piece of cake free that I wanted to buy to take home (awesome homemade key lime pie and cheesecake for sure and the others sounded great too). I hope to come back to travel more in this area so I can try more of this awesome food place 😋 unfortunately I had time to go only once. Awesome night I 100% recommend this place for burgers veggies and desert. Oh and that crab and bacon bits soup was soooooo goooood toooooo 🥰

Omg, my SIL, Linda and I were on a road trip to Worton and before we got started home we pulled out our phones to look for a nice meal. Linda said, let's try this place and little did we know, we had struck gold. Everything delicious, everything fresh and food service perfectly timed. My only regret with this post is that I didn't take pics until we were half through our Entrées. Crab mac & cheese and calamari for appetizers. Linda had Fried Oysters platter and I had the Crab Pasta, outstanding. We both ordered meals to go while Linda had blueberry cheesecake, with blueberries throughout. Benji was great as our server and Chuck the owner was very friendly. Stop by.

I did not expect such a fantastic lunch. All the good places in chestertown were closed for lunch so this seemed to be one of the few places open. I am so glad we went. The ahí tuna salad was as good as any I have had at upscale Baltimore restaurants. I got the Ruben sandwich without meat. Soooo good! And the club sandwich my mom got I heard was quite tasty. Our server was super professional. And the lighting was great. Not too bright or fluorescent. The only recommendation would be to have the fire going during lunch and not just dinner

For the last couple of years, we have spent most of September and October in the Chestertown area. Uncle Charlie's is one of our "go-to" places to eat. The food is well prepared, relatively inexpensive. The portions are large. The staff have always been more than great, like eating with family. Really enjoyed the crab mac and cheese, seared tuna salad, cioppino and the nachos. Only slight miss for me was the crab&pasta. While the parpadelle was great, I thought the pesto overwhelmed the crab and made the dish too heavy for my taste. Stop by. You won't regret it!

We had a wonderful dinner and absolutely lovely experience once the owner seated us after expressing great dismay that we had failed to make a reservation. The service was excellent, our waitress was wonderful and the kitchen staff brought out delicious food. Crab dip appetizer was so good I would have licked the dish!! Caesar salad was OUTSTANDING (and I am a caesar salad snob); fresh and high quality romaine; clearly house-made dressing — perfect balance of ingredients, not too salty and could taste the anchovy and lemon. Other salad tasted was also excellent (ahi tuna salad). Dessert (key lime pie, made on the premises) was FANTASTIC. Rueben was the only disappointment—too salty and greasy and onion rings weren’t worth eating after such wonderful salad and appetizer.

Best place in town for a relaxed atmosphere and excellent comfort food. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits, pictured here. I also recommend starting with a soup and a cocktail, finish with some local oysters or one of the dinner specials and a glass of wine, you won't be disappointed whatever you choose.
