Umpqua River Inn & Suites - Motel in Reedsport - 45209 OR-38, USA

This was a last minute decision to make this the place for the night. I am REALLY glad we did. The place was great. It sat right on the Umpqua River with windows looking towards it. The owners were great and very nice. We got in a bit late and for one of the only times I was sad we got in so late and needed to leave early. If I am ever back in this area this will be the place I will stay. My ONLY complaint is the road noise. That did not keep me from sleeping though and I had a great nights sleep. I think the road condition has something to do with the amount of road noise. The location's star rating is only for the road noise. The tide was low when I took the pictures in the morning.

The Inn is a cozy place just off the highway and about 15 minutes from Reedsport. The managers are very accommodating and keep the place in great condition. My favorite place was the green space out back. Lots of quiet places to enjoy with the ever changing Umpqua River. The rooms are super cute with big windows for a great view. Comfortable and clean.

Wowwwww !!! I’ve stayed in many hotel rooms through the years . Nothing compares! Krista & Bruce were wonderful hosts ! It was our 25th anniversary , they reserved us a Suite and had beautiful flowers waiting for us in the room with a little note wishing us a Happy Anniversary 💖 They put a sweet personal touch along with their professional skills . I don’t know who owns this place , but I do know that you have a gem in them and I hope you appreciate them ! The accommodations were very comfortable and homey ! My sister and I got away for the weekend and really enjoyed the comfortable rooms, the view from the room was beautiful

They are clean roomsand the bathroom(shower olny) too. It was a bit outdated, and the beds were way too squishy for me. The microwave was broken. The owner was really nice. The front desk doesn't seem to have normal hours,it's hard to ask for things. There were some outdoor activities like horseshoes, swing&hammock,fire pit, bbq. canoes and life jackets. Great view of the river.

The property is beautiful and the owners are most accommodating. Plenty of room for large groups and a deck big enough to hold a dance party and a photo booth too. My team and their guests had a blast and the rooms were very nice with comfy beds. I won't be able to go back soon enough. Tell your friends this is as CLOSE TO PARADISE as you can get and the price?... FORGET ABOUT IT! They could easily charge more for what they offer.

We stayed the the Umpqua River Inn & Suites last night. The setting is right next to a very scenic highway and backing up to a beautiful spot on the Umpqua River, 7.5 miles east of Reedsport, OR. My sister and I had great hopes for this establishment from the prior reviews, unfortunately we were disappointed. ||||Upon arrival around 7:30 pm on a Friday, we were promptly checked in the owner of the property (Mr) who provided keys (metal house type keys) and emailed the receipt to us. We took our luggage to our room, #122. I experienced some difficultly opening the door. Upon entering we noted that the spacious and clean room was somewhat stuffy and went to open the window. We found that it was open and the screen was in bad repair and ripped from top to bottom. The room itself was decorated with a darker wallpaper and built-in oak desk, nightstand, and storage cabinet. The surfaces were clean of dust, carpet was clean. The wallpaper was peeling at the seams in several spots. The bathroom was clean with lots of good quality, clean towels. Amenities were lacking - a coffee pot, but no coffee and one tiny bar of soap for the sink and shower; there was shampoo. The sheets and bedding were clean and good quality cotton. The beds were a little softer than I preferred, but fine. ||||When I first entered the bathroom though I noted a strange smell, but overlooked it initially. We decided to leave our room and walk down to the river's edge. As we walked out of our room we noted three couples and their dogs grouped together at the edge of the parking lot that were also there when we checked in. As we walked by we realized they were smoking marijuana (legal in Oregon). When we returned from our walk to the river's edge they were still there. We didn't greet them, nor did they greet us. ||||We returned to our room to settle in the the evening. We attempted to lock the deadbolt on the door, but it didn't work. There was a chain lock which we did use, but didn't feel real secure with just that. We joked that if someone came in the door we could just jump out the window since the screen was already torn. We went to close the vertical blinds on the windows and discovered they were extremely difficult to close and the larger window was missing 4 or more vanes so one could easily see in. As the evening wore on we were overwhelmed with the odor of marijuana in our room and bothered by the noise of the neighbors around us - not because of them being loud - just that the walls were that thin. The marijuana odor continued until about 3 in the morning when we heard the pipes being tapped out. ||||We were just uncomfortable for our entire visit and therefore were were up and out of there well before 8 in the morning. We may have felt more comfortable if there was just the smokers, or the deferred maintenance on the window screen and coverings, or the noise from other rooms, or the nonfunctioning deadbolt but the combination of the 4 just made for a uncomfortable stay. ||||Had it not been for the room size and cleanliness I would have rated this hotel lower.

Traveled to coast a few weeks ago and as we passed the Inn along the river, I said I would love to stay here as the location was picturesque and Inn was inviting. I made reservations next day and rescheduled 3 times waiting for perfect weather. Not disappointed. Crystal, Inn hostess was wonderful. I slipped in mud walking to river (my fault) and she washed my dirty clothes just like a best friend 💝and husband returned them clean and folded. It is off the highway so a little traffic at night but otherwise very quiet. The stars were amazing. Our dogs loved it. Our bed was very comfortable and the room beautiful. It wasn’t “fancy” however it was very clean and tasteful. Painting trim along ceiling perfect- yes I notice these things. There was excitement during night with a bear sighting so we stayed inside. The only thing to make it absolutely perfect would be a balcony as the view is priceless. There is a huge deck off the office and everyone is welcome there!
