I understand the whole you get what you pay for. If that's the case, most people shouldn't be in business. Stayed here for 3 days, but only because the location was familiar. However, the service is a whole other issue. They suck! No other words to describe. Service sucks. The rooms suck! The electric light boxes....Sucks!! The AC leaked and caused the entire rug to have water underneath. Started to smell the day we left. No toilet paper, TV barely worked, no English speaking people. The maintenance guy was the only decent one along with housekeeping. You got Africans staring at you from across the street. Just a big HOT MESS!!!!
My flight cancelled on me so I had to find late night lodging as soon as possible. This place was literally the only hotel I could find left without breaking the bank.
Long story short, I will never stay here again. Horrible service, shady neighborhood and the entire place smelled like weed.
You are better off finding a better hotel and just spending the extra money.
Neighbors were yelling all night. I did not feel safe at all. I do not recommend leaving your room at night. Please save you and your family the trouble and don’t stay here!
I see the other reviews and my experience is never like that😭 honestly if you mind your business and have an objective to accomplish you should be fine. Wanting to be a local tourist at night in the south boogie down ( every store on the ave is closed btw after a certain time ) & you have a more than decent room to stay in and plenty hours in the day to go out and about is ignorant. This isn’t Times Square people 😂 🤣a very lovely Spanish lady at front desk during the day. The skinny front desk dude cool but the other one has a negative zest to him
Spend the extra dollar, stay else where. I get “you get what you paid for” but man. This was brutal. Shower did not work, carpet very dirty, bedding filthy, walls peeling. Construction right outside your window at 5am. Homeless people yelling fighting, feces outside the door step, staff was rude. Room key deactivated every day. The area is bad, really bad. I’m from the armpits of Los Angeles, and I’m use to the hood but this was different. Stay aware of your surrounding, stick to yourself and don’t linger around the area there is no need to. Do NOT stay here if you have kids. Also, it’s pretty far from everywhere so if you plan to travel into the city a lot, this would be a good 50 min train ride to anywhere. We stood in Flushings queens last year, and although the area is also a bit outdated, it was definitely more same and had more convenient locations than this area. And the locals were very polite and helpful.
Not a normal hotel, pictures are misleading. Sign at the door saying please remove ski mask and rooms by the hour type beat. Need to get room cards reactivated daily. Not a great area, would not solo at night. Pretty close to mta station though. Rooms are nice enough, complaints being the sheets are a bit tattered and shower curtain is too short. Definitely not worth the 4 stars it is currently rated, though multi day vacation stays may not be the target market. On a return trip I would be willing to pay more for a different spot.
This hotel was quite expensive... I know it's NYC but damn this was not worth $138 the night... even though the room was spacious and the bed rather comfy noisy (and drunk) neighbours ruined my 2nd night there, talking and slamming doors all night long. Streets around are great if you enjoy slaloming between garbage. And the elevator smells of weed.
This is a very expensive place there was a broken chair in my room 601 I went downstairs to tell the man at the front desk could he replace the chair he told me no and did nothing about it I could of hurt myself when I sat down and fell out the chair. the front desk employee his customer service presentations needs improvements the fridge in my room had a slight odor as well as the room. I don't recommend a good stay at this hotel the
Amazing hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious with nice views over the 5th floor. My room came with a Roku smart TV which was an amazing plus point. good location as there's food and shopping around here. Everything seems to be walking distance, including smoke shops and liquor stores. The attendant was very helpful and nice. The rooms look freshly renovated. Considering everything, this is an amazing hotel. I would recommend this to anyone in Melrose. The hotel has vending machines and an ATM.
Everyone who works here is so nice and the hotel is very clean. My favorite part was the water fill station which seems like such a simple thing but it was nice being able to fill our reusable bottles whenever we needed to. Right by a subway station
We recently stayed at the Highbridge hotel. I canât see enough about how wonderful the staff is! The family feel at breakfast , to their accommodating. The manager even remembered my sonâs name, and we always felt very welcomed. Were very clean a
