This park was nice, but small and still under construction. The community is doing a very good job of developing the grounds and including the local school (Hawaii Preparatory Academy, HPA). As far as bringing your dog and letting them off the leash? That is limited. Space is limited, trail bends are not spaced far, and there is one area behind the houses that felt safe enough for offleash ball play. Overall, it was nice and has great potential. There were very responsible dog owners there at the time which was nice to see. Thanks Waimea! I hope to see the park once development is complete.
Prior to the great drought that Waimea has been experiencing over the past few years, this place was a small slice of paradise. There were beautiful wild flowers and a babbling brook that flowed along a nicely maintained trail. But since the drought the brook has dried up and the flowers have all died. I hope Waimea gets the rain it despartely needs soon!
Excellent park with picnic tables and a stream! Kiddo loves chasing the chickens and there is a short trail (about 1 mile long) to walk. Trail pretty well maintained and no big hills.
Great park to get away from the heat of Kona . There's a nice walking trail that runs along a stream that is just over a mile, very quiet and well groomed. Dogs are welcome on leashes and we saw several joggers, bike riders and even a baby stroller. There is a covered table area as well as tables in the shade. There are lots of benches throughout the ten acre park to stop at and reflect. A grassy area to picnic at and a water fountain to refill your bottles or get a quick drink. The plants are labeled throughout the park so you can identify them easily. Small parking lot and port a potties are available.
Perfect gentle simple hike filled with nature. During the hike saw only three people. Wonderful spot!
such a great picnic spot! Porta potties only though and no trash cans
Nice, easy hike, but not fully in nature. You do pass several houses and there are telephone lines running through part of the trail.
There is also a big open area with a lot of benches and a few tables, to just sit and enjoy the running water sounds and the greenery around you
For me it is a little bit like going back to my home state of Colorado and hiking along the river.... S park is a nice little treasure

This isn't really a destination. It's just a place you drive through on your way to somewhere else. It is a beautiful place to look at until you get used to it. Then it just becomes miles of lava field. For fun, look for sheep and goats as you drive
This is a wonderful cultural gem. It is a great opportunity to learn a little about ancient Hawaiian activities and rituals. It is a really easy hike, but as some people have suggested, wear somewhat sturdy shoes. The trees drop thorns that went all
Bobby's beginner yoga flow class was outstanding! There were so many different types of people in class. Over 5 teenagers that I think were from a swim team, moms, dads, young, mature, seniors....Bobby caters to just about everyone who wants to have
I visited this most amazing GJâs Huli Chicken by pure chance and let me tell you- THE BEST CHICKEN I HAVE EVER HADâ-HANDS DOWN. Initially- from the roadside, we saw the rolling smoke as the chickens were being cooked, then decided to stop and see
Beautiful canyon. We could not view certain parts due to fog. The waimea lookout was completely not visible the day we were out there but I hear itâs beautiful on a clear day. We were still happy with the parts we saw. A beautiful scenery and drive
I did a morning 2 tank charter with the Blue Wilderness crew and it was awesome! The team and captain were super personable and upbeat throughout the morning, gave thorough dive briefings and split the divers into two groups (beginner and advanced) w

Awesome customer service the food is delicious and vegetarian friendly. The spicy veggie ramen was 10/10 and the toasty onigiri was the perfect texture! We will definitely be back.
We had such a great time here for dinner! The vibe was on point and service was friendly and quick. We got a flight sampler and some food. Food tasted great and priced reasonably especially compared to a lot of places on the Big Island. Parking was l
This is a super interesting place to see if you are interested in learning about Hawaiian history. There are a lot of ruins here. I wish there was a bit more information available. The area is very open and you are free to explore the paths, I donâ
This place was truly so beautiful. We were at the Mauna Lani Resort for a week and we only made it to breakfast in person once but Iâm so glad we went. I got the French toast and my wife got waffles and oh my goodness they were so amazing, I ended
Don De Luca's is hands down the best Italian restaurant on the Big Island. The service is wonderful, the food is tasty and comes to two portion sizes (half and full), and they, of course, have a bar service. The Chicken Marsala was amazingâthe chic
