I was amazed by the authentic Japanese cuisine at UKA, and being Japanese myself, I believe this restaurant truly captures the essence of our culinary heritage. The chefs' attention to detail brought out flavors that transcended mere appearance, leaving me pleasantly surprised with every bite. What differentiates UKA from others is its commitment to excellence, from appetizers to desserts. The grand finale, the dessert, was perfection. Sitting at the Chef's counter was a unique experience; it not only added a personal touch but also provided valuable insights into the artistry behind the dishes. The restaurant's ambiance is a beautiful blend of intimacy and relaxation. It evokes a sense of being transported back to Japan, making it more than just a dining experience; it's a journey. I highly recommend UKA to anyone seeking exceptional quality and a truly special dining experience. UKA will leave you with a lasting impression of culinary excellence and warm hospitality.

One of the best restaurant experiences in LA. Every course was amazing but my personal favorites were the Ikura and Uni wrapped in Flounder. The service and interior of the place were also amazing. We celebrated a birthday and it was the perfect place for a special occasion. Best kaiseki had outside of Japan and I would highly recommend it if you enjoy Japanese cuisine. Their sake offerings were also great.

Hidden behind the Japan House in LA is a traditional kaiseki experience that feels like you were transported to Japan. UKA embodies fine dining. The seating consists of a set of tables with views of the LA skyline and a chef's counter. We had reservations at the chef's counter. The entire meal was astounding. The food was some of the best I have ever had and the way that the chef played with flavors was spectacular. The first dish, the dashi, showed a depth of knowledge on flavor that blew me away. The chef also delighted us with a surprise course that was not on the 9 course menu. There was so much though and attention to detail in each course. I also particularly want to commend the hospitality, ambience, and staff. I truly believe that at the highest levels of fine dining, where I would put UKA, one experience elevates itself above others by the small, almost unnoticeable, attention to details for the staff. Everyone was so polite and communicated information about the guests to one another so that each member of the staff was aware of what the patrons likes. For example, when we finished our meal, we were offered a citrus drink, a flavor my girlfriend had mentioned she enjoyed in the first sake she tried. It was that level of hospitality and the extremely magnificent flavors that distinguished UKA from some of the other fine dining meals I have had. I also had the absolute pleasure of talking with the chefs after the meal. The head chef was so friendly and informative, and I could go on, but I could really rave about UKA forever. I am very excited about following the progression of the restaurant and plan on recommending the place to everyone I speak to. I can't wait to go back.

A definite MUST. Service, atmosphere, views, presentation, FOOD. Everything was such a memorable experience and we can’t wait to return. All the courses were unique and special with a flawless balance of flavors. You will taste a variety of dishes from clean and simple steamed vegetables to japanese sashimi to melt in your mouth, buttery wagyu. And chef doesnt forget to add seasonal elements to the courses by adding pickled green apples and fresh hokkaido uni. I truly enjoyed the sake pairing and you could see the genuine love for sake in Terry, but if alcohol is not an option for you, the homemade ginger ale is delicious. I wish I could write a more raving review, but words cannot describe the entire experience. We loved every minute of the meal.

An incredible authentic Japanese cuisine experience. From the starting dashi to the Wagyu, the sashimi to the dessert, every dish worked in concert with each other in a wonderful way. The private and tranquil ambiance in the restaurant was also unique, making it a great place to celebrate a special occasion or to enjoy dinner with an important person. The dishes were extremely authentic and top-notch quality (I'm Japanese); I highly recommend the $300 course - it was well worth the price and you will not regret it.

One of the finest high-end Japanese dining experiences I've ever had! Having visited several renowned Omakase and Daiseki places, even in Japan, this one easily ranks among my top 3. Chef Mitsue is a true master of his craft. Each dish was prepared with meticulous attention to detail, from the presentation to the utensils used. His knife skills were an impressive spectacle in itself. The manager, Anthony, displayed remarkable knowledge of both Japanese cuisine and culture. It was evident that he had a genuine passion for the food served at the establishment. If you have an appreciation for authentic Japanese dishes, this place is a must-visit. (I didn't know how to respond to you comment. Yes you can use it on your social media.)

I went two days in a row since it was SO good. A truly authentic Japanese Kaiseki and everything from the chefs to chopsticks and plates along with some of the ingredients were from Japan!! 100% recommended if you’re in the area. The attention to detail is just spectacular. Writing this review made me want to eat it again honestly..
