Tyroleon Lodge is in a great location right in town. We stayed over the new year and it was by far the best bargain in Aspen. The room was big, had a nice kitchenette and was more modern than I was expecting. The staff were all pleasant and I always found parking right in front. It’s walking distance to everything in town including the Ajax lifts (a bit of a walk but still walkable). I also appreciated the ease of getting in and out of the building and parking lot. Many of the other hotels in Aspen take time to navigate the lobby, elevators, valet, etc, but that is not an issue here. I highly recommend staying here if you would like to experience the great skiing and restaurant scene Aspen has to offer without spending the typical Aspen prices. We can’t wait for our return visit next month.
My husband and I stayed for two nights in early September. We were very pleased with our accommodations. Room had obviously been recently remodeled. Due to ceiling fan we were very comfortable and never noticed the lack of air conditioning. Location was excellent - walking distance to many restaurants and shops. We would definitely recommend this lodge.
The Tyrolean Sun Valley exceeded my expectations. Very quiet, comfortable and exceptionally clean. Highly recommend. Oh and across the parking lot from the gondola, great location jf you're here to snowboard!!
RAW SEWAGE, NO REFUND Upon returning to our room after dinner, we noticed a slightly bad smell. We had figured it was a faint dumpster smell and dealt with it. We took showers, but after getting out noticed the incredibly strong smell of RAW HUMAN SEWAGE pouring into our room from the sink in the small kitchen area. The little kitchen area in these rooms backs up to the bathroom and, after reading through the other reviews, there are apparently major plumbing issues. I called the after hours number: Manager: Yeah? Me: Hi, there is a terrible human sewage smell pouring into our room from the sink, is there another room we can be moved to? Manager: (annoyed and not at all surprised) No, we’re sold out, if you talk the the person at the front desk in the morning he’ll hook you up. Me: So we’re just supposed to sleep in this poop room? Manager: (laughs) Unless you have a better idea… Me: Oh thanks, what’s your name? Manager: Tells me his name and hangs up on me. So now we start packing up, trying to hold our breath, frazzled that we are wet and having to leave in the night. Then the manager calls back and says that he found us a room to stay in, if I wanted it, at another hotel and that I needed to come to the office in 5 minutes to pick up the new reservation info. So now I get to stand there with my soaking wet toddler and watch him pout and sigh because this is interrupting HIS night. I never received a word of apology or an ounce of friendliness or professionalism, just extremely casual annoyance. So now we leave to head to another hotel down the street. It was in much worse shape physically (old carpets, stained walls, etc.) but it was clean and the staff were really nice. The next morning I called to see if we would receive any of our payment refunded, since we were forced to move in the middle of the night and it was a poor, traumatic experience altogether. The older gentleman working the front desk in the morning was professional and pleasant, and said he would need to ask the owner but would get back to me. Later that day I received an email that they had decided, after speaking with the front desk manager, that since I had “declined to leave and receive a refund the night before” and because “they had paid” for our room at the other hotel, they wouldn’t be giving me any refund for our trouble. At no point whatsoever had I been offered or declined a refund the night before, this was an outright lie. When you would rather stick it to a family whose evening/vacation was ruined rather than refund $50 (of their $175 rate) and offer to buy them breakfast, your karma is going to take a turn. I hope all these refunds you are withholding from people are worth the reviews you are getting. We have stayed in 5 other hotels in Aspen (Mountain Chalet Aspen, Hotel Aspen, Molly Gibson Lodge, The Limelight and Aspen Mountain Lodge) over the past decade of living in a neighboring town and this was our only bad experience. Never again!
Aspen is a very expensive place to visit if you didn't know already. This hotel offers decent clean accommodation for a reasonable cost in this area. Location is good, being a few minutes walk from downtown. Room was well equipped, and comfy. We had a basement room which meant we had no view at all and it was a bit dark. Check in was very informative with free coffee.
I will not recommend this place. At first I was impressed this place was old and dated but charming enough and good location and Jim at front desk was so friendly and helpful but later in the night my husband used the restroom and when he went to flush water would come up and wouldn't drain so basically we paid almost 200 dollars for a room without a restroom! I went to the front desk early morning to ask for help. nobody was there. I called the emergency number and left a message asking for help and nobody called nor showed up. We had to pack and leave real early to go find a bathroom somewhere to use! Bad business.
Stayed here for a night in the summer. Location is great -- just a few blocks from downtown Aspen. On-site parking is available if you have a vehicle. The room was much bigger than I thought it would be and featured a kitchenette with glasses, etc. When we arrived, Jeff (Jim?) at the front desk hooked us up with a map and noted some places to eat, as well as where to pick up transportation. No AC, but don't really need it. There is a ceiling fan and a desk fan though.
Awesome place short bus or walk to Ajax ski resort in Aspen. The room was nice and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.
Maroon Bells is a slice of heaven on Earth! The majestic views are nothing short of miraculous â a postcard-perfect panorama that makes you feel like you've stepped into a painting. The twin peaks mirrored in the crystal-clear Maroon Lake create a
It is truly a breathtaking experience in Aspen at 11200 ft with stunning views surrounded by beautiful mountains. I really enjoyed the ride and gondolas were comfortable.
What a beautiful park to visit. There's running river water, beautifully placed stones and rocks giving this park a Zen-like setting. I had the opportunity to visit on a Wednesday morning where the traffic was low and I was truly able to take in natu
The gant customer service is excellent, everyone made us feel welcome and were super friendly. We were always greeted with a smile, something much needed in these times. They help us take our luggage to the room, they held our luggage after checking
From the moment we arrived at the grand entrance, we were greeted with impeccable service and a warm welcome. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel's elegant design and sophisticated ambiance c
Located at the base of Aspen Highlands, right in front of the main lifts, Highlands Alehouse is our favorite spot to grab food and drinks for lunch or after a day of skiing. The food is great, the pub is nice inside, and the service at the bar is exc
Went driving to see the fall colors here in Colorado. Arrived in Aspen in late afternoon and was a fish out of water. Looking for something to eat that would not cost the same as a tank of gas for my jeep. Found this 6 it was truly a hole in the wall
When you think "COLORADO", this is it.Aspen is beautiful and this hotel is in a perfect location. It has the charm of a cottage, and you are extremely in the center of it all. Very clean, nice size rooms. Friendly staff.
Recently took a trip to Aspen and while we were there drove out to Ashcroft. Very pleased to see how well the ghost town has been taken care of. Definitely recommend it if youâre looking for something new to do.
