Tasty food! A little too pricey for the amount and a little too much fusion to be perfect at all the menu items, but overall good execution. For carry out we got lamb dumplings, a chicken empanada, a chicken curry rice bowl, and pork belly steam buns. Everything was pleasant (pork buns were the favorite) though for $50 for 2 people we weren’t exactly full. The building space is set up well for a college-style restaurant with an emphasis on carry out. Would get again.
I'm not trying to hurt anyone's business, ever. But we were not happy with the 2 dishes we ordered. The flavors were good, food was fresh, portions of carbs were huge, but it's like the dishes were unfinished. We were very glad to find vegan and gluten free options where there are very few. Maybe beggars can't be choosers. It just seems these 2 dishes that we ordered (curry noodle and mad rice) were missing so much. There should be vegetables in a curry noodle dish. It was a huge bowl of noodles with a tasty curry, a few herb leaves, 2 slices of radish, a 1/2 tsp scallions, and 3 medium-sized pcs of tofu that I cut smaller to help me feel like i was eating more. The rice dish had like 2 tbs shredded tofu which is measly for protein, and again no veggies. I feel like there's a lot of creativity here and they've got a good start, but what we had was unsatisfying. We'd gladly take smaller portions of carbs to get some more protein and a nice portion of vegetables. I'd rather have more actual food than just a "food concept". I wish them well, but we wouldn't be back unless the food changed.
I am a huge fan of their Empanadas and steamed buns! I love that they have vegan options which come in handy when we order out with friends with dietary restrictions. Only place around to get a malted banana milkshake which is out of this world. The owner is a great guy and will definitely take great care of you. Definitely give Twisted Soul a shot when you are in the Poughkeepsie Area!!
I love, love, love their fusion take. I've been to some fusion restaurants and it was more mixed up frather than fusion. Everything I've had here is so flavorful, clean, filling and so satisfying. Moving up here from the city has left me craving flavorful food (I wound up trying to make the dishes I miss most). So glad I found Twisted Soul - so far I've tried the noodle bowls and rice bowls, mac and cheese and steamed buns. All packed with flavor. I think my current favorite is the Kool Noodle Bowl. A nice take on the cold sesame noodles (prepared firm, as they should be, with a delicate peanut flavor and perfectly seasoned, firm tofu). Everything tastes fresh, no gloppy fillers or additives. Thank you, I'm so happy I found you. I'm making my way through the menu.
This is by far some of the best food I’ve ever had! I ordered the Vassar Noodle Bowl and it was so full of flavor. I love the fusion of different styles to create a perfect blend of deliciousness. I also ordered a Bubble Thai Iced Coffee. It was perfect. I’ve heard a lot about this place and I’m so glad my wife and I decided to stop in. We’ll definitely come again
Incredibly slow service. It wasn’t crowded and it took us 25 minutes to get our salad and noodles. The other customers all had long waits as well, despite there being many employees who weren’t doing anything or were working very slowly. The food itself was horrible. As a complete salad connoisseur, their flavorless American Beauty Salad was inedible. The Tofu Noodle Bowl was lacking both salt and flavor. We had to dispose of both of our meals.
I was excited to see a store offering Fusion foods the combinations were a little nuts but so am i so why not i said !! I ordered 3 empanadas sweet potato was ok Chicken empanada ok beef was ok too .... I worked in food service as Executive chef of many NYC locations and realized that they were stamped like from a commissary . Not store made . The Bibimbop Rice bowl was ok . The killer today was the pork belly rice bowl this was not good , white rice smothered in Sweet Thai Chili Sauce and chunks of old pork belly and where was the crackling nowhere to be found. The highlight of the meal was the fried egg , Like you cant mess that up right luckily for them that was on point a perfect fried egg wasted over mediocre rice and store bought sweet thai chili sauce isnt fusion ....... Please get your flavors in check , i will not order from here again empanadas were ok for not being made in store ....Because this owner cant take consumer reviews and makes an argument out of any review they disagree with i will extend not an apology but now my brutal honesty this place sucks food is horrible and those that eat here must definitely have major problems with there palette!!!! Its like they let a 10 year old put random flavors together , In the words of Gordon Ramsey learn to cook you Muppet !
This is a little gem. The food portions aren't huge but the flavors are amazing. Well worth the trip.
The food is really good. It's a bit pricey. $52 pls tip for 2 people for lunch, but it's good healthy food. When I eat there I make it more my dinner. The warm quinoa bowls are excellent as is the soup and toast.
This restaurant is good. They surprised my husband and I with a weird and interesting take on shrimp. You have to see the pictures. It's fluffed and crunchy. It does not look like shrimp at all. I don't know the name of it but everyone gets some when
I have been there twice and had a delicious meal each time. I had the Oxtails for dinner. I had the Shrimp and Grits for lunch the next day. Both were delicious. Staff was attentive and courteous. My only complaint would be staff inability to work th
Most authentic Mexican food I've ever had! Wow. This place is a MUST. Everything was freshly made from scratch and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend their tacos (chicken, steak, and pork), the King Kong burrito, and Horchata. I ordered lettuc
This is a hidden gem in the Arlington area! The owner and all the trainers are so fantastic with my 10 year old son. He has become so determined to get stronger and it builds his confidence. They are there for all age groups. If you are looking for y
The Weight Band with guests from Levon Helms group was PHENOMENAL! The concert started at 7:30 pm and there was a short intermission. But then, they didn't stop playing until 11:30 pm!! You could see they LOVED playing together, and it was almost
Definitely had a good time (on a Sunday nonetheless). Bar is clean, classy, and the drinks are heavy. One of the best old fashions I've had for sure. I wish them all the best and hope they become a mainstay for the academy street revitalization.
I love their ice cream, especially soft serve. There are different favor to choose from the soft serve. The shop is cute and clean. The price is reasonable. Enjoy eating ice cream there. The owners are very nice and hardworking.
This is my first time in Poughkeepsie and it turns out nothing is open on Sunday. This place is a ghost town! There is literally no where to go except this Japanese restaurant on the Main Street. Well, it was completely empty when we walked in, so we
Cute neighborhood gem. We tried the chipotle melt and short rib grilled cheeseâthey were both excellent. The cold peanut salad as a side was unique and quite tasty too! Service was friendly and fast. Would love to come back to try more menu items!
A lovely place to visit. They make their own cheese's and have a variety of items that are homemade. Free range eggs and grain-free meats. The farm itself is a very enjoyable experience they have animals for you to pet from goats and cows and donkeys
