Twin Creek Crystal Mine Ark - Tourist attraction in Mt Ida - Collier Springs Rd #177, USA

Drove 13 hours just to come mine here, and we will DEFINITELY be back. We found so many beautiful crystals! Highly recommend doing the commercial or pocket digs! Bring your own tools, gloves, water, sunscreen, extra buckets, and good shoes/clothes for mining that you don’t mind getting dirty. Call ahead during hotter temps to be sure they’re not closed early for safety. The road getting back there is rocky, so take it slow, and bring a truck or SUV if possible! We made it just fine in our car though. Bobby was so nice and made us feel welcome! Can’t wait to come back!!

Best mine I’ve been to yet. The employees were so nice and welcoming and they had the most beautiful crystals. Can’t wait to come back!

We were at the gate at 9am- 9:30am 7/11/23 the gate never opened no one but another customer ever showed up so we went down the Road to Anants and had a wonderful dig there. Came all the way from Illinois for this mine and was very disappointed he never showed up.

We loved this place! It was recommended by a co-worker and we are glad we went. We were a party of 4 adults, 2 teen girls and 2- 12y/o boys. We only brought a couple shovels but still found a lot of crystals. We plan on going back in the fall but will definitely bring more tools. Tips: bring your own tools/buckets, lots of water, snacks, bandaids, cash (they don’t take cards), and make sure to use the restroom before you go (there is only one port-a-potty on site). We just did the $25 pp dig and it was perfect. There is a $100 commercial did but someone said it’s harder work but you can find bigger crystals this way.

This place is amazing! From the moment I pulled up I got a good vibe! After a neat drive through the woods, the road opened up to the mine before me and there were people already crawling over over the dig site, and sparkles all over the dirt. This was my first experience at rock hounding and let me just say that I am hooked! And I will be back. The location is great and the staff there is super kind and helpful to a new digger like myself. I found so many lovely pieces and the staff even gave me advice on how to clear my crystals. Love this place!!!

My wife and i dug two separate days (6/3/22 & 6/5/22) we did the $25 the first day to get a feel and the $100 the second day. Had a blast! Dug some great crystals. Owner David was very nice and helpful as well as his daughter who checked on us to make sure we weren't getting to hot. We will return soon!

We did another more well known mine first, then tried here the next day. We paid $300 and believe we got our moneys worth - even though we had to cut out 3 hours early due to a bad cut my hubby got that just didn’t want to stop bleeding, Shame, it bothers us both that we couldn’t stay the last few hours. So many nice specimens….will surely return here and BTW, the drive in wasn’t treacherous or dangerous at all despite what other reviews we had read. Recommend this to all crystal hounds,

This place was amazing. There are crystals everywhere. If you have kids that like to play in the dirt this is the place to go. We left with buckets full of crystals, both little clusters and a few larger ones. We only did the $25 open dig and we had a blast. We went to harbor freight prior to going and picked up a few cheap tools to help. You will need your own tools if your going to dig. No tools are provided. You don't need tools to find crystals they are all over the place. You could just walk around and find them or sift through the piles from pockets being dug out. Tools just add to the fun There is an option to pay more and have your own pocket opened up, but it's not necessary. If you do pay the extra for a pocket, you'll be impressed. We watched one get opened up and the crystals were much larger. We will be returning and I recommend it 100% The guy who runs the place is a very nice guy. It's a low key place. Bring food and water.
