Fantastic atmosphere, service and food. Very welcoming. Feels like family. Easy to chat with, the staff wants to get to know you. Cozy. Great pizza. If we lived here, we would be regular members!
A cute little place! We loved our little visit here. We are camping right down the road. Too bad we missed when they have live music! The owners are lovely people. Met some pretty neat people here. Good drinks too!
The Tavern is a favorite local pub where the atmosphere reflects the personalities of the owners; friendly, warm, and kind. You are always greeted warmly and it's a comfortable, cozy place to meet people and enjoy conversation. There is often live music and they encourage anyone to share their musical abilities in a low-key setting. It is not a restaurant, but they'll make you a pizza if you ask. This is a private club with an annual membership fee (currently $50). If you are not a member, you can still participate by paying a guest fee (currently $5 per visit). I'm not much of a drinker and have never really frequented bars, but I'm very comfortable at the Tavern and enjoy socializing with the new friends I've made. Fran and McRay (the owners) are wonderful folks!
Was in Murphy NC for a week of motorcycle riding and just stumbled across it. A wonderful and friendly vibe. Fran and Mcrea(sp) and Milo the dog are awesome.

I love this place. Not to big but also just right. I refer to it as The Cheers of the mountains. They serve a meal on Thursdays and supply sides for a bring your own meat on either Fridays or Saturdays I can’t remember which. I liked it so much I became a member for fifty bucks a year. I’m actually looking forward to my next visit here. Oh, you can order a fresh home made pizza anytime.
Got stopped by an officer in their parking lot, after a long day of hiking and leaf looking. They were so nice after and let us use theor batbrooms and even gave out son and my husband and I waters. My husband and I will be back for a few drinks, minus the ticket. 😂😂💜💜
We love this place, we felt very welcome by everyone here on the day we visited. The pizza and atmosphere was amazing. The owners talked to us like we have been as regulars. Will visit again soon, thanks for the welcoming hospitality.
