The beach is clear, white sand and amazing as well just like other beach in the area. This has kayak/boat dock area in the other side of the parking, it has an enclosed playground for your kids to enjoy. One open rinse off as well is available, pathways to the beach is easy access, not far from the parking to the beach. Make sure to go early as parking is much limited, we went on a Saturday so it was abit hard to find parking. The area has sometimes food truck (gyros food truck when we were there). This beach is the end beach access in the key. It also offers campground in the other side of the street.
We go to the beach…somewhere…every weekend. It’s why we live in SWFL. So, I’m always looking for particular things that I like about beaches. Turtle beach highlights: free parking and plenty of it! We got there about 10am and there was plenty of parking available still. They have a shower station, picnic tables, launch area for kayaks, and a covered playground, the water was beautiful blues and greens in color. Negative: ugly sand, seaweed all over, and steep going down to the water with not much options for setting up. There were fishermen on both sides of us so not much area to swim in fear of getting caught in hooks or lines. Shelling was only going to happen if you snorkel.
Beach break. No shells, but you can watch the tiny clams dig into the sand after a wave recedes. Nice coarse sand and minimal walk to the water.
Waterfront and sand CLOSED to the public!! ZERO notification by Sarasota County! Even the signs when you enter just say that trucks are entering, NOTHING about the beach area being closed. Not until you actually walk up to the beach is there a sign saying it's aALL a construction zone. Waste of time and effort driving there.
This hidden, off the grid beach is exactly the kind I love and always go looking for! Turtle Beach is right next to Siesta Key, so if you’re looking for a much less busy location to still soak up some sun, salt air and hear those lovely ocean waves, this is your place! Parking is free and there is a lot of it. They even have bathrooms and rinse stations, as well as a playground and picnic/ grilling area. My friends and I actually stopped at a to-go Daquiri bar that was literally minutes away from this beach, so there’s still a lot nearby without going directly into Siesta Key. One thing that may be a letdown- the sand is not the crazy soft white that you find at SK or Clearwater. It’s more the characteristic darker sand of the Engelwood beaches. Personally, I don’t have a problem with it, but don’t come in expecting otherwise. This beach still has so much to offer! The water is clear and gorgeous, there are plenty of shells to find and enjoyment to be had! There’s a sandbar if you swim out far enough, and I even saw a large school of manta rays swim by and it was the coolest thing ever. This is for sure a quiet gem beach I’ll come back to.
Is the add amenities like shower and a bathroom will be the place that many people will be heading when Siesta key is packed and you can find parking. The city should invest in some amenities that will transform in revenue since you will keep them coming back.
Great beach away from the crowds. Bathroom facilities and a picnic area. Great parking and not too far to walk to the beach. Gorgeous sunsets!
This is my favorite beach. I would not recommend it if you have kids though, or do not like walking. Everything is kind of spread out and lots of wildlife (snakes and gators) near the restrooms. This is more for locals or people wanting to avoid all the kids. ***Fyi, these pics were taken early June 2018.

Lovely beachð The sand is so white and looks like flour while the water is very clear and almost waveless. There are restrooms nearby as well. Parking is free but lot gets crowded quickly
