Turning Point of Newtown - Brunch restaurant in Newtown - 2841 S Eagle Rd, USA

Joined the waitlist virtually at 11am with a 25-45 minute wait. Showed up around 11:30 just to be told it was another 30 minutes but they’d text us when the table was ready. We didn’t get any text because the hostess was calling people by name out loud. So we went back in and asked when our table would be ready and she said another 10 minutes. So right there, an hour long wait is crazy. Especially when we joined the waitlist early. Got the breakfast combo with an upgrade to lemon blueberry pancakes and there was no taste of lemon at all and blueberries on top. The food was mediocre at best and they were out of potatoes! So that right there eliminated at least half of the breakfast options. The one thing that is nice is the atmosphere and the coffee. They have press coffee which is delicious and it’s a good place to catch up with family and friends because the service is a little slower so it lets you enjoy conversation. Overall, I won’t be back though because of the food and service. At least if I wait that long I want the food to be good. My husband and I spend $60 for the food pictured below and an hour long wait. Hopefully others enjoy their experience, but there might be other options out there to try.

A very nice atmosphere with a great menu of fun exciting breakfast items (speciality drinks and interesting breakfast items) the staff were very welcoming and sweet, and the Benedict I ordered was absolutely delicious. First time here, definitely won’t be my last. Great place!

I had vegan pancakes and Beyond sausage. The pancakes and sausage were delicious. The bananas were more ripe than I like, but the strawberries were good.

Love the food at Turning Point restaurants. My issue with Newtown is trying to get in, particularly weekends. It's chaotic crowded to wait and once seated. I don't bother anymore but if that's not an issue for you, food is good.

I have out off writing this review. I kept waiting for a positive experience. After three attempts, i really wished someone I written a review that would have prepared me for this experience! Lol I am gluten free. Ordered three times french toast there. Each time hoping to get something other then dried toasted bread w a bit of cinnamon- no actual batter of eggs and milk has touched that bread. I do french toast at home w gluten free bread. There’s no difference from regular bread. When i called out a waitress on this after third french toast like that- i was rudely interrupted and she walked away. Exclaiming that what do you want you wanted gluten free!! Really????? We waited a long time. Hot drinks were brought before the meal. Hot drinks come after the meal unless otherwise specified! Meal came. Over salted and dry. Staff rude. And a tiny scoop of butter came in a plastic cup/bowl kind if like medicine at a hospital. That is all after calling in advance. And waiting over thirty minutes before being given a table.

We went for breakfast and the selection was great. I had the cinnamon roll pancakes which were awesome. Not too sweet either, just right. My wife had the Berry chocolatey pancakes which she said we very good as well. I tasted the strawberry reduction sauce which was great. My kids tried the S'mores waffles and the volcano french toast which they all enjoyed. My youngest said he would be happy to come back every day for breakfast, which is saying something as they are very picky about everything. The good was served quick even though it was fairly crowded. Waitress was prompt to acknowledge is and take out order, checking back a few times as well. I'm looking forward to trying their other items next time we go. Keep in mind they are only open for breakfast and lunch, I believe they close at 3:30.

I ordered the Benedict with avocado and noticed that the avocado was spoiled and black in color. I let my server know, and they just said “sorry”, but didn’t offer any sort of solution. Otherwise the food was tasty and the coffee as well.

Delicious! We shared a French press of strong Jamaican coffee, I had amazing eggs Benedict over cornbread, and my husband had the best shrimp and grits. We’ll be back soon!
