Stayed here for a quick business trip, and couldn’t have chosen a better place. Karen is so friendly and helpful, and you can see and feel all the love and passion she put in to her inn! The rooms are beautifully decorated and make you feel like you are sleeping in a museum. Karen knows everything about all the furniture that she has sourced, which is super interesting! Breakfast was delicious and fresh in the morning, and Karen made sure to discuss dietary restrictions as applicable. She even packed up some snacks for me to bring to the airport! Would recommend this to anyone looking for a unique and comfortable right-at-home style stay!!

Turn of the century was comfortable and immaculately clean. Breakfast each morning was superb. My wife and I enjoyed having our coffee in the front porch rocking chairs after a good walk around historic Salisbury. The reason for our trip was a funeral and hostess Karen helped make our trip a great deal easier. Thank you Karen.

I booked this stay very last minute. I was struggling to find accommodations for the night of a wedding my fiancé and I attended that wasn’t a $300+ mediocre hotel in Winston-Salem. Luckily, I found Turn of the Century and Karen! I was so excited when I called and not only did she have vacancy, but it was very affordable! This house is stunning! The breakfast was superb, and Karen is a great host and incredible conversationalist! We will be looking to return before we move out of the area! Highly recommend!

What a wonderful experience we had staying here. Karen made us feel so welcomed, and was a great source of information on all that is Salisbury! What she has done to this historic home is amazing, with incredible attention to detail. The breakfasts we had were delicious and plentiful. This is absolutely one of the best B&Bs we've ever stayed at.

I stayed at Turn of the Century with all of my bridesmaids the night before my wedding and then my husband joined the night of my wedding. I had the Rose Room which was my favorite but each room is special, decorated with beautiful, antique pieces. Everyone absolutely loved their experience. It was perfect for us in every way. Location is awesome, Karen’s commitment to service is unmatched, and the breakfast was top notch both days.

Karen has meticulously restored the spectacular “doll house mansion” (her young niece’s words) with such loving attention to detail that you are seeing the home in its former glory. Even her beautiful breakfast is served on stunning antique dishes. Come for Salisbury charm and stay for Karen’s hospitality and stories. ||The Turn of the Century B&B is a destination in itself. If it’s not a busy day and Karen has a moment, she can tell you the amazing details of the transformation from a near-ruin to the authentically restored gem which is a unique, cozy and extraordinary place to stay. And please, Karen, do that cookbook soon so I can make your zucchini chocolate muffins at home!

Karen is lovely. She is very sweet and enthusiastic about her house, as she should be. The work she put into it in order to turn it into a bed and breakfast fit for kings and queens is extraordinary. I grew up in Salisbury and I remember this house being abandoned in the mid 90s, it looked very rundown. I still can't get over everything she did to make it what it is now. She treats all of her guests with the same grace and care. I had a wonderful week here and she made sure I had everything I needed. I stayed in the Rose Room, which was very enchanting. The bath was magnificent and the bed was very comfy. There's a really cool music box in the room and beautiful antique furniture. She brought me a breakfast table since I dined in a lot while working on writing projects. I can't recommend her B&B enough. her breakfasts were delicious and she let me take a coffee carafe to my room to enjoy hot coffee in bed. She also gave me a gift of fresh baked cookies and a cold bottle of water when I left. Simply charming!

Such a great experience. Bring your educational ears as Karen has so much information to provide. Her attention to detail is on another level. The towels were so soft, the silverware was the perfect weight, there were glass coasters, and the water pressure in the shower was practically a massage. Whether for business or pleasure, turn of the century is the one stop shop.
