Turkey Point Lighthouse offers a captivating blend of history and nature. The short but scenic hike to reach the lighthouse is worth every step, surrounded by lush landscapes and stunning bay views. Although I didn't enter inside, the exterior and surroundings make it a perfect spot for a refreshing outdoor adventure. Highly recommend for a dose of history and a touch of serenity.
A short walk to a little lighthouse and some historic informational signs. According to the sign, lighthouse and gift shop are open 10a-2p. I arrived after 2:30p so I just got to see the outside of the lighthouse. My watch tracked 1.74 miles round trip. Not many inclines to be concerned with and the trail is wide. Regular sneakers or shoes seem appropriate. I think dogs are allowed on the trail. Parking area is small however it’s a short walk so I imagine people don’t stay here too long. I didn’t see any picnic tables or anything to sit and spend a lot of time there. There was a bench or two. Nothing overly exciting but it is cool.
It's a pretty easy hike to the Lighthouse from the parking lot. It is about 3/4 mile. Beware that you should come early on a weekend with nice weather, especially, as the lot gets full. The trail is wide, and is covered with rocks. Some spots get muddy when it rains, but there's usually somewhere fine to walk still. There are a few benches along the way for those who need to rest. On hot days, this trail is nice because it is mostly shaded. However, there is a long section with no shade (also a good area for spotting hawks). There are 2 outhouses near the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is open to go in on the weekends (I think just in the summer), and the small gift shop is open at the same time. It is a pretty view from the cliff around the Lighthouse.
Trail was wet/puddly, to be expected after over a day of rain. But the view from and of the light house was nice, and it's an easy (almost 2 miles round trip) walk! Get there early, it's a very small parking lot at the trailhead. Volunteer staffing, so it wasn't open at Sunday ~noon, no giftshop/museum. Still worth it!
Approx 2 mile hike from parking area. 1 bench rest area along the walk. Bird watch area. It's surronded area is maintained hunting area. Porta potty and gift shop. Very traditional and historic stair case. Awesome views from inside and outside of the lighthouse. Beautiful bey view. Very calming environment
We went early on a Saturday morning and there was only one other couple there when we arrived at the lighthouse. A very peaceful and quiet walk. As we were leaving around 9:30 a.m. many people were walking toward the lighthouse and even more were driving towards the park. Wear shoes with good soles. The rocks and gravel make things tougher on your feet. Be aware there are some hills so it's a good cardio workout... 11 minutes of active zone time lol. Two porta potties at the lighthouse. One handicap accessible. Both fairly clean. No other garbage receptacles or facilities available that we saw. Pee or pass? I would pee here again.
Absolutely stunning views of water and the trail there was scenic! The walk was pretty brisk and definitely worth it.
Open at Sunrise and Close at Sunset Free Entrance and Free Parking lot. Totally worthy to visit and take a walk! You can see the beautiful sunrise, sunset, and sky! Amazing scenery!

Wow! Great little beach with white sand and smooth surface in the water. They have a snack shack, bathrooms, showers, and dressing rooms. Plenty of picnic tables. Plenty of room for many people. Cost is $5 a person for the entire day.
What a great little coffee shop! Great coffee, friendly service, and crazy fun and tasty donuts! What more can you ask for from a small town surprise stop? Definitely a required stop! Thanks for the tasty treats my kids loved the donuts!
I love a park with good water views and this is definitely a good one! The playground has lots of different and fun equipment so lots of kids can play at once. There is a nice walking path too. Plus beautiful water everywhere around you!!
Actually ended up having a great time and this was a very last minute quick google search. We needed to be close to the Delaware east stop. BE WARNED: They only accept cash! People who owned the spot and worked there are friendly. We had a beautiful
From Turkey Point Lighthouse, Rogue Harbor, all the way to the North Bay area this scenic stretch of land has it all. Hike the white tail, pick paw paws in the Beaver Marsh, forage for maitake, hunt, fish, or just relax by the dock on the bay. Alway
It was difficult to find the trail that led to the waterfalls, but I eventually found it! See photos. There were painted pink rocks that helped guide me to the falls. I was the only one there. It was relaxing. A little difficult of a trek because of
Some of the best pho Iâve ever had. I had the âHue styled beef noodle soupâ which was delicious, huge portion too. Also had the shrimp and pork summer rolls, maybe the best summer rolls Iâve ever had, as well as the peanut sauce. Glad I was a
I come here at least once a year. I live about 2 hours away and itâs closer than going to NJ or OCMD. I like it because itâs sand and water and usually not super crowded. Having said that, the sand isnât the same ocean sand at the beaches. Itâ
SO much fun. We felt like family! We stopped in for a late lunch with family members after a funeral and needed not only good food but a bit of fun. Our server was playful, sweet and we loved her. We got a variety of food...breakfast for myself and m
