Tulsa NE / Will Rogers Downs KOA Journey - Campground in Claremore - 20900 S 4200 Rd, USA

We have been full time in our motorhome for 5 years and have earned just under one million rewards points. Last night we experienced tornadoes and severe thunderstorms while staying at a KOA in El Reno. We were scheduled to be at the Tulsa NE KOA today and moved our arrival up one day due to predicted storms. After last night’s tornadoes we had to cancel all plans. As a VIP rewards member, we are permitted to cancel up to one hour before check-in time without any penalty. We called and spoke to Michelle as soon as their office opened. She was rude, said “we never have tornadoes in Tulsa” and we would not get any deposit back.|I asked her about the VIP rewards member benefits and she said the rules changed to 48 hours. She ended the call abruptly after I asked to speak with the owner. Michelle called back 15 minutes later and told me to reschedule our reservations for later in the week and cancel before the 48 hours. I asked her to repeat what she had said, because it sounded to me as though she was telling me to lie. (After surviving the hand of god the night before, she wanted me to lie?!) Michelle said she didn’t want me to lie, just reschedule. When I told her I would do no such thing, she again ended the call abruptly

One of the worst places I’ve ever been to considering it’s a KOA they hold very low standards. Me and my fiancé were inside our camper when the tornado hit and it’s a miracle that we’re alive. “confirmed 23 people injured, with 19 of them taken to the hospital with 2 deaths” no one was offered refunds. They weren’t trying to give anyone any kind of time. Lynell demanded that I leave as soon as possible. And was a b**** my entire stay she made every part of that KOA miserable and she made sure to point me out and made sure to say something I needed. I don’t care what they do to restore this park. I will never return. I’m sure the racetrack people won’t either. anyone is looking for someone to stay in the CLAREMORE area. There are several other RV parks. I would recommend anything but this place. and they also plan on raising rent I don’t know about y’all but I wouldn’t want to pay $600 a month just to get harassed every time you go in to pay your rent

We were in the park the night of Sat. May 25 when the tornado hit. Amazing storm shelter. Most of the RVs in the park were damaged or destroyed. No fatalities in the park. Located just off I-44.

What a find for the night. It was about a mile or two off the highway so no highway noise! It is located next to a casino and a race track which was fun! We got up early the next day and watched the horses train before their race at noon. We did not notice any extra noise because of the casino traffic. We had a pull thru site for our 40 ft motorhome. The RV park was clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again,

This is one of the best campgrounds I have stayed at for an extended period of time, the people who work here put all their effort into creating a clean and positive environment for its guests and are always welcoming and helpful. There is a dog run that is kept clean, and a playground for children. The staff at this campground make the place what it is today, which is a wonderful place to stay and caring individuals who will do their best to make your stay an enjoyable one.

We were there visiting some relatives, the RV park was well taken care of. The restrooms were very clean. Looked like a nice playground for the children. The only thing I noticed that was a negative is that some of the traffic on the main entrance was going too fast. In a hurry to gamble, I guess. I didn't notice any changes; it's a nice well kept Park. Tne casino and horse racing track is close.

This KOA is a bit unique in a good way. It sits near the horse race track and casino. That meant at dinner time we walked over to the Casino and had a good meal (I ordered the steak and it was very good, especially for the price). The campground is very clean, as were the restrooms. Our site was long enough that we didn’t have to disconnect and it was a pull through. For the money, this place earned a 10.

This is a Great Stop, while traveling. There’s a horse race track, and you can see some of the riders. Clean spacious pull through sites for hook ups clean bathrooms, dog park.. casino is walkable, live music very fun.
