Served its purpose. Campground itself is nothing special. Good views of the mountains & "lake". The grounds themselves are not well kept & our campsite was full of trash & goat head stickers. Neighboring campsite pulled out mid-afternoon & left their campfire roaring. Sunday afternoon, and there was no one on site, so we put it out. No cell service, TV channels, and our Hotspot didn't get signal.
Bright spot was the playgrounds. Kids loved them, but they could use some upkeep.
Not much nearby, and Porterville is not very pleasant. Just all around pretty meh.
The view, especially at sunset, is beautiful. The marina has good service and prices. The camp is hot and sunny. Not all sites have water/electric, seems like the sites that do are full sun. The bathrooms while we stayed were a mess. I had to remove hair and bandaid clog from shower, scooted it over and it never got removed from the shower for the three days I was there. It seemed like the toilets were occasionally serviced...but the trash was never taken out. Garbage cans only at entrance of camp....which is a long walk when you just need to dump the doggy doo bag. It was drought season when we went so minimal green space, lots of thorny weeds. Would we stay again? Maybe, but I'd probably look around first
The camp host IS a Karen! She think she owns the campground. Talks to guest disrespectfully. Yelled at my kids for climbing a tree. I think she been here to long and needs to be replaced with someone with more communication skilles. She just drive around her white truck telling guest negative things. Very unpleasant experience I dont recommend staying here unless she leaves !
This place should only be used as a last resort for those wanting to visit Sequoia NP if they can't get anything closer. The NP is around an hour and a half away, and the national forest is probably the same, but worse roads. One of the nights that we were coming back to the campsite from the park, they decided to close the gates at night, so we had to park farther from our site and walk with stuff! The bathrooms were pretty dirty too and no hot water for the shower.
Went during Thanksgiving 2022 and this place was very clean and lovely. The showers are awesome and the restrooms are good, just bring wipes & soap! The lake was pretty low but fishing was great! The only downside is if you plan to go to the forest, most of it has been burned but there are still lots of nearby sequoia groves worth visiting!
I went there to cool off it was very nice quiet beautiful scenery you have the foot hill's all around your havent stayed in the camp grounds in a couple years because im only a short distance away but they do have nice showers on the marina side of the lake on the east side of the lake not so good I was looking for a water forest noticed bathrooms were closed look like for quite some time they had port a potties in the door ways and they had quit a stitch other than that nice quiet place to relax catch up with family while camping out cant beat it not to sure about the rate per nite or weekend ..seems they have all most a full house on the weekends every body wonts to cool off and relax right
Close to Sequoia but the park was closed during our visit. Campground is nice with marina, water and electric for RVs and dump station. Core of engineers park. Close to Porterville CA. Clean shady areas. Paved sites. Would definitely stay again!
The bathrooms are nice and clean. The grounds at the campsite were overgrown with goatheads and fox tales. We had to take a lawnmower and mow down our campsite. The pincher bugs were everywhere. It hasn't always been this bad, but it is now.

The very first bite and I absolutely knew that this was best patty melt I have eaten anywhere. I chose sourdough bread and pepper jack cheese. They grind their own meat. It was cooked perfectly and the strange part I noticed it melted in mouth. T
Our family's favorite restaurant in Porterville, hand down! We have ordered their food many times. We have tried almost everything on their menu. They are so heavenly delicious and such a great price. I personally love their sharwama. I love their hum
The chefs are not afraid to use the proper amount of peppers in their delicious food. Especially loved the larb and wished I could try more. Would make it a point to stop here again if anywhere close.
I'm not exactly a morning person. When I do happen to be out and about in the city I shop at , in the morning... Starbucks coffee put a smile on my face this morning.
Thanks and great job Starbucks,

There are 3 El Charro Tapatio in Porterville, but this location is the BEST one. Everything is always delicious and fresh. We really like the elderly lady in there. She is just genuinely happy and so sweet all the time. She is really good what she is
First visit to this cafe. This was on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Got there early on recommendation of local friend. We were one of three tables, and the atmosphere was of a utilitarian cafeteria . Although, the walls were plastered with all sorts
Great food! I always order something with a side of rice, because if the rice isn't good who cares about the other stuff. I judge Mexican restaurants with extreme prejudice based on the simple menu items. But this restaurant has great cooks! It remi
Recently I took my boys to this park and they loved it they are both age 6 and under. As a parent I loved it because I saw how much they liked it. Rest rooms were clean and there was a good amount of seats all around for the parents to watch their k
