Tucker's Cafe - American restaurant in Boone - 1180 Blowing Rock Rd d4, USA

I’m always in search of a good “Mom and Pop” restaurant where most of the food is made from scratch with very little heat and add water items! Tucker’s Cafe at the Mall in Boone was a pleasant surprise. There was something on the menu for everyone in my family The food arrived to the table at an excellent temperature, every thing we had was super tasty. I ordered the Margarita Quesadilla, my husband had (Patsy‘s) Pita and our son had the Grilled Cheese. We ate everything and plan to return for more! The fresh vegetables in the Quesadilla and Pita were fabulous. Portion sizes are just right and the price is good. I was so pleased with how crispy and crunchy the tater tots, grilled cheese and quesadilla were! I would have given the place 5 stars, the only downside was entering the restaurant through a huddle of people by the counter. The entry was covered up with customers and some people one of the workers knew. She was a bit loud and too chatty with friends while customers were waiting to be seated, pay and even just enter the cafe. The front was terribly congested, because of her “visiting” which continued through half our meal. I’m very glad to see people happy and enjoy their friends, but someone needed to reel her in. Overall we were satisfied and will return again if we’re able when visiting Boone.

Tuckers. Since 1992 it has been a Boone staple. We’ve been coming for 25 years and go out of our way to eat here. Mr. Tucker and his family serve up amazing, delicious, food in this little cafe tucked away in the mall. Tons of items on the menu and all come out near perfect. Personally, I think they have the best gyro outside of NYC. (I have never been able to order anything else). But I’ve seen my family get beautiful salads and sandwiches and attest to their deliciousness. It’s inside is cheery and the people are always friendly.

Best french fries in the county. Good service, low wait time and not much has changed since the 1980s. It is good to see a long lasting small business. Well worth the trip to the Boone Mall.

I ordered a club sandwich to go and it was ready in ten minutes. It also happened to be one of the best club sandwiches I have eaten.

Tuckered out. Forget the traditional restaurant. I ordered cheeseburger with fries (recommended as the best) The cheeseburger was processed perfectly “round”. Traditional burger would use fresh ground hamburger & thicker. Usual frozen fries. Paper under food soggy. I had to ask for utensils.I tried to eat. I told waitress I could not eat the food. With an attitude she removed it. .

Was not able to eat here. Stood outside waiting to be sat for 5 minutes as employees walked around us without making eye contact. When I questioned if we were doing something wrong, the waitress snapped that they were very busy and they were trying to catch-up. All I wanted was to be acknowledged and updated. The food may be good, I don't know as this was my first time there but Tucker's could use a hostess or a staff that knows how to talk to a prospective customer.

This treasure is found inside the Boone Mall. It was the first place my wife and I ate at after moving to Boone in January 2019. There is literally (and I do mean literally) something for everyone on the menu. My personal favorite is the Reuben Sandwich, and is by far the best Reuben in town! Its stuffed with corned beefed, sauerkraut, swiss, and 1000 Island. If a place has a Reuben, I always try it....and Tucker's has the best.

Came here for lunch today when we were in a rush. Our Waiter was fantastic and helped us out quick. The fried pickles and pub chips were delicious! All 5 of us were delighted with our food and it was a great experience! Would recommend for anyone from Boone or on Vacation!
