Alex at the front desk was awesome! He went above and beyond to help us with our requests! Very accommodating! Room is clean and comfy with microwave, fridge/freezer and coffee maker. Plus it's roomy! Here for business, but will definitively bring my family back!
Loved our stay last weekend! Rosario (the lady working during breakfast) was the sweetest worker we have ever met! Her service was amazing, and we are so grateful. The rooms were very spacious and the beds were comfy. The air conditioning was nice and strong during a hot weekend outside. I will definitely be coming back to this hotel!
Stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding and was pleasantly surprised. It was much more affordable than other places in the area which normally means you sacrifice/suffer. However, the rooms were clean (and I have a pretty high standard/am really picky) and the staff were nice. I passed on the breakfast but it seemed like many guests were enjoying it. Overall, if you’re looking to be in a beautiful area with decent (nothing mind blowing but very nice for the price) accommodations, I would recommend this place.
Nice hotel, location was decent if you have transportation. Room was spacious and well kept. The desk staff was super accommodating. The best was the service at breakfast. The woman running the breakfast bar was amazing, friendly, and was willing to go out of her way to make sure you had a pleasant meal. I regret not catching her name because she deserves to be recognized. Needless to say if I had to work in Truckee again I would not think twice about staying here.
Last minute decision to stay in Truckee after enjoying dinner in historic downtown, wanted a spot with a hot tub as we’d been driving and playing softball a lot, found this spot that was relatively inexpensive. Hot tub jets weren’t functioning, front desk was aware and said they’d called ownership to advise them, water was clean and warm so we sat in it for a bit but would have been nice to have the jets working. Lobby is quaint, mountain rustic touches, the hallways and rooms are a little dated and could use some touch ups, but I appreciated the small touches like the light fixture above bed being moose to give it that mountain / tahoe vibe. Bed was a little firm for our liking, good power outlets next to bed, a/c functioned well, couldn’t hear the highway adjacent at all. Why 4 stars - the complementary breakfast and 24-7 coffee/hot chocolate machine! The staff were friendly and polite, asking if we needed anything. Sausage, bacon, pancakes, bagels, waffles, eggs, banana and poppy seed muffins, yogurt. |Nothing fancy but did the trick and felt family owned which I value. Wish we could have gotten down to the creek but the shrub was too high.
Needed a place to stop on the way to bay area, this was an absolutely wonderful place. The area is beautiful and the hotel is well-kept, the staff were extremely friendly, even at 1AM when we ended up arriving, we had a great chat with the guy at the desk. One thing I wasn't aware of when I booked the place is bears!!! If you packed a lot of food in your car just plan to remove it or else a bear might try breaking in! Luckily this was not an issue. Overall a great stay. Coffee machine was one of those nice ones with lattes and mochas, breakfast was decent, nothing exceptional but good. Room was very comfortably decorated and beds were clean and soft.
Let me say this hotel went above and beyond! The entire staff deserves an award. They all super warm, friendly and willing to help. I loved my room, the location (great view of the mountains and a little stream just below my window) and customers service. It’s also only a 7 min drive from downtown Truckee nightlife and restaurants. The rooms a modern and come with a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. They also include free breakfast with all you can ask for. They even accommodated my late check out since I decide to ski and extra day. I highly recommended this hotel and would 100% stay here every time I’m in Truckee/ N. Tahoe.
Overall hotel is aged. Pros Bed was good Room was clean Staff friendly Breakfast was good Cons - Hotel and room has so strong smell of either flea spray or pine sol. I think it’s to mask another underlying smell (maybe mildew) no way it’s not that strong on purpose. You can taste it in your cup water if you leave sitting on night stand. We left window open for most stay. -Floor is soaked in room under a/c / heater - Ceiling in room has peeling paint from water leak looks like from room above.
A family go to for over 50 yrs. Sadly it's hard to find any vacant rooms anymore. We try to go twice a year. Steve & Edie are the very best owners I've ever met. Many great times there & many more to come.
Skydive Truckee is top notch! It would be impossible to get this experience with any other team. From start to finished they made us feel like family. We had a group of 9 guys jumping. Weather conditions held out perfectly and we were all able to hav
