Tru by Hilton Smithfield I-95 - Hotel in Smithfield - 167 S Equity Dr, USA

This hotel is great, the staff is friendly, the aesthetic is inviting. Very clean, and despite welcoming pets it is very quiet. This is a great hotel for families. We tend to travel a lot and instead of the children being trapped in the room between activities we were able to explore the hotel which had entertainment options such as an indoor pool, 24 hour gym, billiards in the lobby, private nooks, hanging swing seats, and an outdoor seating area complete with a nice little bonfire. This tru is in close proximity to a good number of shops and restaurants which really came in handy when the pancake machine was down and we had promised the children pancakes or waffles for breakfast. All if the staff are incredible and nice, but while looking over breakfast we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bernard who was very caring and attentive to everyone. I noticed he was making rounds ensuring everyone was happy, and had what they needed, as well as just having general conversation with them making everyone feel welcome, and despite being able to speak to everyone, he didn't seem rushed in his interactions, he genuinely cares. We will definitely be back, and should the opportunity arise, I will be recommending this hotel.

Si vous voulez payer pour la beauté de l hôtel c’est ok sinon n allez pas là. Le personnel pas trop sympathique et pas moyen d acheter une boisson gazeuse ou collation dans la soirée même pas une bouteille d’eau à vendre et aucune machine distributrice dans l hôtel il y avais du café froid dans le lobby et la réceptionniste avait l air de trouver çà normale. Par contre le seul point. Positif le petit déjeuner était correct et le monsieur qui s en occupe. Était très gentil

Enjoyed our stay at the Tru by Hilton in Smithfield, NC. The best hotel I have probably ever stayed at. The rooms were perfectly cleaned. Beds were clean and very comfortable. Not one bug nor hair. So many choices for breakfast. There was a pool, pool table, workout room, very nice seating areas, quiet and comfortable. Overall a great stay. Will be staying again.

This was just a stop on a cross country trip for me and my dad, so when booking I literally just picked a hotel right off the highway. Staying at many hiltons before I was familiar with the layout and amenities, but what made my overnight stay were the staff and service. The 2 girls working the late shift helped us pick a place to eat and had great recommendations for me and my dad. The following morning at breakfast Bernard went above and beyond for us. We had a 10+ hour drive and he saw me getting breakfast items to take on the road. He provided us with a bag to hold everything and some bottles of water/popcorn for the trip as well!!! Such a kind man!!! Definitely recommend for anyone in the area or even just passing through.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Tru Hilton. The location is fantastic, right by the outlet mall, lots of restaurant choices and within 2 miles to lots of other great options also. The front desk Staff was extremely friendly and professional, the facility is overall really nice and has nice amenities. Our room was nice, but we were really disappointed in the pillows as they were flat as pieces of paper. We have never complained about pillows before but these were pretty bad. The floor had some dirt in spots that must have been missed in cleaning, but everything else was as it should be. We will definitely stay here again despite the small complaints. Thank you for our stay!

Although I am a Hilton Honors member, I have never stayed at Tru before. I booked this one-night stay on my way home from a week's vacation. I was very pleased with my choice. The hotel, as well as my room, was clean, attractive, and comfortable and had everything I needed for my stay. The staff was helpful and friendly, too. I'll definitely be staying here again as I pass this place several times a year. It's a great value for the money and I highly recommend it.

Our initial contact with the hotel was great. I called & was able to check in early on Thanksgiving Day. The front desk person was awesome. This is a new hotel in the Smithfield area and I’ve never had issues with any other Tru locations. My rating has both to do with the front desk staff, the guy working the breakfast area nor the gentleman cleaning the lobby on Friday morning. I rated this a 3 based on cleanliness on the 4th floor where we were staying. ||When we got off the elevator & headed to our room I noticed that the carpet wasn’t clean or vacuumed. I didn’t worry about it because I saw the housekeeper’s cart at the other end of the hall so I figured she would save the vacuum work for last. When we walked into our room we noticed this red lint all over the floor. Around each bed & everywhere. It looked like a dog may of had a chew toy & went to town on it. I walked down to the housekeeper & asked if I could use her broom to get up this red lint that was all over our room. She gave it to me so I went in & cleaned our floor. I thought she would have come to do it herself since she may have missed it but she didn’t. ||When my wife walked into the bathroom, inside the toilet confirmed that the room hadn’t been cleaned throughly. ||The vacuuming of the 4th floor wasn’t done until Saturday afternoon. I’ll post the pics that show the hallway floor as we found it on Thursday when we checked in. Again, this wasn’t vacuumed up until Saturday. I wish I would’ve gotten the pictures of our room before cleaning ourselves.

This is a fairly new hotel, but it is a great option for anyone traveling into this area. It’s dog friendly and the staff is wonderful. The rooms are clean the breakfast is not the best more of a continental than a full breakfast, but there are a lot of places in the area to eat and shop. I would definitely put this on my list as places to stop and stay when traveling through the area..
