Rooms are extremely small pool is under maintenance Rooms have a strange smell to them. Original room I was in shower Had mold they swish me to is it much better Seems like they try to make a cheap hotel look fancy do not recommend should’ve stayed at the holiday Inn next-door. As someone who travels frequently, I definitely will not stay at any tru ever again

This hotel is GREAT. I'm not sure why the previous reviewer had such a problem. Our room was READY ON TIME, IMMACULATE, COMFORTABLE, and QUIET. We are both pretty picky actually and can't find anything negative about the hotel nor our stay. Free breakfast, outside patio, pool table, indoor pool, workout room. Everything worked and there was even a mini fridge in the room. We loved having the bathroom sink actually INSIDE the bathroom. I would stay here over and over again. I'm actually looking for all of the Tru brand Hiltons every time I travel from now on.

We chose this hotel for our visit to Richmond while visiting my son and family. The reasons were the Hilton reputation and the fact it had an indoor pool for our grandsons to enjoy. The hotel was very clean, staff was friendly and location was great. The room was set up a bit strange. Small table on one side of the bed, a shelf on the other, no drawers and no closet. We attempted to go in the pool one day, and the water was ice cold. As indicated in the room, housekeeping would come in every other day to clean; make bed, replenish towels, empty trash and replenish amenities. They came as stated but bed was not made. When I mentioned this at reception the next morning, they told me that I needed to request to have the bed made!! I indicated I have never heard of that and thought it was strange. They offered to have someone go in that day of which they did. I would have rather they just admitted they forgot. The breakfast was good as well as the coffee which was available 24 hours.

We stayed here on our way to our family reunion in Va. We have kids & they were excited to go swimming. Pool was under maintenance when we arrived & the site never stated that when booking rooms (2). Once we checked in no one told us & when I inquired about why no one let us know upon checking in the desk clerk asked if I wanted the manager to call me I said yes & no one contacted me. The shower had a cracked holder in it. We will not stay here again.

The hotel is new and modern in decor. Our room didn’t have a fridge that worked. We asked for a new one and they were not able to accommodate us. The rooms are best suited to a single traveller. We had a king bed and a kitty, and it felt small. It would be uncomfortable for a family for four. The gym is great, with a Peleton bike, elliptical, and two treadmills, plus free weights. The best feature is the location, with plenty of stores and restaurants just a few blocks away.

Great hotel for a quick work trip, and I will actually frequent this hotel when working in the area. It was clean, well-lit, and conveniently located. All of the staff were kind and polite, and the entire hotel was quiet and relaxing. The wifi was even strong enough for Zoom meetings, a huge plus given that most hotel wifi will trigger the low bandwidth alert. I did notice there was a lack of space to put things, so the room did feel small and cluttered pretty quickly. I used the rolling desk as a luggage rack. While the shelf over the air conditioner could be used as well, but the sun coming through the window was hot enough to melt self-care products, and the cool air mixing with the heat from the sun created a little moisture. The desk fits perfectly in the alcove behind the door, so I'll continue to use this trick as it really opens up the room. In the bathroom, amenities are nice, but again, the lack of shelving was a little inconvenient. There's a thin shelf over / behind the toilet, but where do you think things will go if they fall? I'm a single traveler, but I need space for dental care, contacts, face products, and deodorant. The counter around the sink was available, but the soap and lotion are mounted to the wall so that you squeeze and it comes out the bottom, so I couldn't put my toiletry bag there, and it wouldn't fit on the shelf behind the toilet. There was a note about hanging things on hooks on a door, and with my work dresses and jackets, I filled that quickly.

Checked in late (2am) asked for a noon check out. Front Desk clerk said absolutely and put it in the system. 11am the next morning I had housekeeping banging on my door. Thankfully I was up and getting ready to leave by my 12 noon check out time. I answered the door and told her I had a late check out approved... at noon. She looked at me and said she doesn't speak English. 🙄

Not a bad option for the area - if your not interested in a pool (pool was NOT heated) and so cold. There was not listing about this and was a huge bummer for our family . Water machine was finicky, staff cleaned up breakfast 20 minutes before end time, and limited snack options. Not worth the $183/night overall. Staff was minimally helpful and either was busy cleaning rather than staying at the front desk or sitting on the side with headphones in. It was clean, rooms in working order, nice fitness center, and complimentary coffee/ tea.
