Tru by Hilton Lawrence - Hotel in Lawrence - 510 Wakarusa Dr, USA

Pulled over for night stay as we were traveling. No regrets. After a full day of traveling and being exhausted, this hotel fully energized us for the next day. Checked in at night and Grayson with his bubbly personality greeted us warmly. The hotel is beautiful and clean. Room was clean and comfortable. Love the hotels now are not using carpets in rooms. Air temp is easily adjusted and bed were very comfortable. Plenty of plugs for charging electronics. Never heard neighbors above or next door so solid floors and walls (I am a very light sleeper). Morning breakfast was tasty with plenty of a selection. Rose even came by greeted us and took our plates away. Hotel has a terrace for sitting outside or eat inside with plenty of choices to sit. Pool table or Connect Four to play and a gym to workout in.

I stayed at the Tru by Hilton in Lawrence for several days in June, 2024, and I frequently wondered where all the negative reviews of the hotel on this site came from. I booked the hotel before seeing the reviews, as it was geographically convenient for me and it seemed nice enough. After seeing the negative reviews, I was a little concerned that maybe I’d made a bad choice. . . but after my entirely pleasant, entirely fine stay, I can confidently state that the Tru by Hilton in Lawrence is a fine hotel. ||To get specific, all of the staff with whom I interacted where great, from the front desk staff who let me check in a bit early to the housekeeping staff who were professional and competent. The room was absolutely fine - not the biggest in the world, but there was a comfortable bed, a mini-fridge (no freezer), a nice bathroom, and a big window with a view of the high school baseball fields out back. The gym was small but serviceable and met my needs - there is an assortment of dumbbells, kettle weights, a pull-up bar, medicine balls, an exercise bike, and two treadmills. And, the breakfast was free and fine with mild variations in what was served day-over-day to mix things up a bit. Finally, the 24-7 free coffee in the lobby was a nice perk. Overall, again, this hotel was totally solid with regard to amenities and infrastructure. I had absolutely no issues during my stay, and was - again - impressed by the pleasant and professional staff. ||If you’re in Lawrence and the geography works for you (emphasizing that this hotel is NOT downtown or by the campus), then you should consider staying at the Tru by Hilton!

Amazing stay. Clean and good breakfast. Hailey was very kind and welcoming and was cleaning baseboards and keeping the place amazingly clean. My foot is broken and I have to use a scooter to get around so a friendly face at this time was just what I needed. Her kindness was the deciding factor for me to come write this review. I will be staying there again and recommending it to anyone I can. Great spot for sure.

Simple no frills hotel, but perfect for an overnight stay. Breakfast was an ordinary hotel breakfast, although they said they would accommodate dietary needs. But the coffee was fantastic! My favorite was there was no carpet in the room! It felt very clean. Will definitely choose this over other hotels!

The staff went beyond for me! I asked a Simple question about nail salons in the area Haylee was like, I'm not sure but let me text a friend and got me the name of a great nail salon. She was so friendly. The hotel was one of the nicer Tru I have stayed in. So clean and update! The beds had to be new cause I do not think I have slept that good in so long!

Super clean room! Greyson checked us in and was so helpful, we felt like he was happy to see us lol. Helped us with tips on surrounding restaurants. Beds were comfortable,nice fitness room, good breakfast- parking lighting was good. Will be back- thanks Greyson!

We loved staying here. Was our first experience with the Tru brand & it did not disappoint. Love that the breakfast was open until 10 am. My daughter loved the pancake machines. Room was great. The staff that we spoke with were super kind & helpful. Thank you Rose, Ricardo, & Esperanca! Location was a definite plus with all the restaurants & shopping close. We will come back for the value!

Had a great time with my family. Rose, the breakfast attendant was an absolute delight, she made our visit comfortable and memorable. She truly went the extra mile to make sure that everyone enjoyed their stay.
