My husband and I were traveling home and needed a place to stay. We called to inquire about a different Hilton hotel and was recommended this one. The man on the phone was incredibly kind and helpful. Seeing as it’s summer break and there were slim pickings we booked this hotel as it was a little more in our price range. I wish we would have just spent the money and stayed somewhere else. We were told the hotel was on the beach and it was a 20 minute walk to the beach. We were told our room had a slight view of the beach and I guess if you had binoculars, they were right. The room was smaller than I expected and I felt like I had to squeeze in between the bed and the TV. The bed had some stains on it which was alarming; on top of the mattress not being comfortable at all. We were thrilled to find the first floor had a refill station for water bottles but we were not thrilled to find the water tasted as salty as the sea. The shower was not sealed properly and it was basically like walking on the beach as that water was salty also. Not to mention the floor of the shower made so many cracking noises when you were in it that I swore we were going to fall through. The floor of the shower still had dirt mark and we made sure to wear our waterproof shoes into the shower. We had finally found a relatively clean spot and went to bed when we were awaken every hour by doors slamming, our neighbors moving around, etc etc. I felt like if your neighbor blew their nose next door, you would know about it. I would stay here again if I absolutely had to but it wouldn’t be in my top 10.

I originally selected this location for its proximity to my work travel location and to the beach. I wasn’t familiar with the “Tru” branding and as a Hilton Gold member I was excited for water/snacks like my visit to all other Hiltons (some higher tiered than this). When I got there to check in they didn’t tell me any information and said only diamond members get perks but “if it’s on your reservation we will make an exception”. Yes it was. I showed proof. I didn’t want to make a big deal about that but the state of the hotel declined from there. First, there’s holes in the ceiling where sprinklers were added. Second, the gym had broken machines (and I watched a guest try to work the machine while I was on the operating one). Third, my room wasn’t very clean and I found a receipt from a previous guest in the sheets. Then I noticed that they weren’t cleaning the rooms, not a huge deal as I usually place a DND sign but in terms of food trash, I asked the front desk why this isn’t part of the stay because I was concerned for critters. They stated it wasn’t something they do here unless requested in advance for each day. I proceeded to bring my trash to their main lobby trash cans and noted that every night there were bags from people near the one trash can next to the elevator on my floor. The final straw was waking up to cockroaches in my room (despite cleaning up trash every day to avoid attracting anything). I checked out and moved hotels. As someone that travels frequently for work; this place leaves much to be desired. There were other observations such as minimally stocked food-for-purchase areas.

We absolutely loved our stay. The hotel was extremely clean. The housekeeping staff should get a raise. The hotel was updated and had lots of amenities and modern features. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was pretty awesome compared to other hotels we have been to. They have an automatic pancake maker, brand name muffins, brand name croissants, and other delicious breakfast items. We also really liked the filtered water dispenser next to the ice machine. It was nice to stay hydrated while at the beach. There is also a pool table and board games for the family during down time. The pool is quite small thoug. We look forward to returning in the future.

Awful, horrible experience. Book anywhere else!! Even with a 15 years-long Hilton Honors diamond tier membership, the experience with our reservation here has been the absolute worst hotel service we have ever received. Despite confirming this twice, we were turned away at check-in, hung up on, dismissed, and even blatantly lied to by the front desk attendant, who refused to help us regardless of our reservation being booked and even confirmed the same day over the phone, and received even less help from their "manager". They were difficult, unhelpful, and downright disrespectful, speaking to us in a manner that never belongs in a customer service situation. I am so utterly disappointed and displeased that our stay was completely ruined by the attending employees. Needless to say, we are switching to Marriott.

DO BETTER PLEASE! this place honestly was disgusting! I'll start with the bathroom. The toilet felt like it was about to "lift off" like a rocket. It rocked and reeled all over the place. The shower made all kinds of noise when anyone stood inside the shower pan to bathe. Overall it just did NOT give a clean feeling AT ALL! I'll never stay here again and I DEFINITELY DO NOT recommend it! I will say it it was quiet that's my one compliment. Sorry not sorry

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT STAYING AT THIS LOCATION. I WAS CHARGED $785 for one night!! When I checked in they told me I would only be charged $317 after taxes….THEY LIED TO ME! Then refused a refund. This is an average hotel that is not located on the beach like they told me they were on the phone when I made the reservation. Save yourself A TON OF MONEY AND STAY AT THE FAIRFIELD BY MARRIOT AND YOU WILL GET THE EXACT SAME AMENITIES FOR A QUARTER OF THE PRICE!!!! Also when I got in my room there was a massive brown stains in my comforter and they wouldn’t give me a new one quote I g they ran out of blankets! Very unclean, unprofessional place!!!

So I give this place a 3.9 Overall rating. It's not a luxury stay, it's about convenience and safety and able to travel with a pet!! Hotel is in a good location with a cute downtown just 2 minutes in your car. 30 minutes to Destin BCH and plenty of near by things to do. Bed was over all comfortable, there isn't any luxury bedding or comfy comforter so Spring and Summer that will work but not in the winter. You can bring a small pet ,cat or dog! That's actually why I chose this place. Room was clean but very bare bones. No dressers or luggage storage area. If you are a solo traveler or with a pet it's great! Cable TV, more channels than many other hotels for after a long day out at the beach. The room stays cool, and the bathroom was nice and big and great water pressure. Everything was clean overall. Most of the staff is friendly. The pool is small but you will be at the beaches anyway. I went down for a few hours on my first day. If you like power walking there's plenty of places near by for walks. I used my Hilton points. Otherwise it would have been pricey. Stay here if you have a small pet, solo traveler and just need a clean, safe comfortable bed. Nothing fancy. I didn't have the breakfast, it's not my thing. It looked like a typical cheap hotel breakfast. Continental lol The usual yogurt and stale pastries and some strange machines to cook your pancakes. I'm not eating anything squeezed from a bag and pushed out through some press machine lol But for some people I'm sure they enjoy it. Like some people still eat at McDonald's. Each their own. If you want better breakfast stay in a more upscale hotel or find a local eatery. Coffee was good. 3. 9 hotel. If traveling alone again with my pet I would stay here again. With my husband and pet just not enough room. Ms. Moochie definitely enjoyed her stay as well. Thank you for allowing small pets!!

Nice hotel typical TRU location. I like the location and is one of the most reasonable cost around. Everything else is the bare minimum. The front desk folks (2 I encountered) had very little personality. The breakfast is the most bare minimum they can give. One thing that bothered me is the employee parking in the Diamond member parking. One the perks I like is Diamond member parking. This particular employee parked in the spot. If that was not bad enough, she parked just on the line making the next spot inaccessible. I would have totally blocked her driver door if I parked here. Risking damage to the rental car if she tried to get in. So her lack of care for anyone else was blocking two member perk parking spots. Crazy complaint, but I travel often. I like my parking spots.

Tried this place from word of mouth and the feedback was everything and more than I wanted. My wife and I tried the yuca fries and the birra tacos and we were not disappointed. Tasted like home cooking and I could not be more pleased. On top of that

First time eating here, we’ve been trying different PuertoRican restaurants in the area, and we were not satisfied at all until we ate here. Food flavor is excellent, menu variety is good, customer service is great and the atmosphere is really nice
