We recently had a big holiday family get-together and stayed at the Tru. This was a great property! The staff was super friendly, and the common area was perfect for us to get together after hours. My only complaint (and reason for 4 stars instead of 5) is the walls/floors are not well soundproofed, you can hear everything in the room above you and the hallways. It didn't bother me, but if you are a light sleeper, consider earplugs. I would definitely stay again!
Nice place to rest. I liked the interior design of the lobby. The room was good enough for a weekend stay. Great breakfast in the morning. I also found the gym equipment good enough to keep active during the trip. The pool table was a nice perk ! Finally, we discovered it is possible to walk a couple blocks and access a beautiful trail that leads to an interesting small historic site ( old dam) and continous to a nice park near by the Allen football Eagle Stadium.
It is clean, with hardwood laminate floors instead of carpet, which i like. But, there is no functional furniture - no dresser, no nightstands, no closet, no couch. There is one small chair and table that is supposed to be the "desk". There is one long bench to put your suitcases, with one small section that is cushioned. But you have nowhere to sit to watch TV except the bed. I think they are going for a modern look, but it is the bare minimum. The mattress is not comfortable - it feels like an old, worn-out mattress, which is not possible because this is a new hotel. My guess is it is cheap like the rest of the room. No closet - only pegs on the wall to hang stuff up. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Cute and clean rooms, looks newly decorated and it's great, friendly staff, conveniently located to just about everything. Great lobby area to lounge out in, shoot some pool, read, watch TV, or catch up on some work emails. Plus, you can get a drink from the little 'lobby store' should you so desire! I gave the hotel a 9/10 rating on their survey. I would have given a 10 rating but the drinks and snacks are WAY on the pricey side! That was the only drawback, though.
The desk clerk is wonderful. He’s friendly and always fun to talk to. The other one is just as nice. I told her the plumbing didn’t work in my room. Someone must have flushed something down the toilet that they shouldn’t have. She immediately gave me a different room.
great place to stay friendly staff friendliest I’ve seen in a long time hotel was clean. Rooms were nice great price you know what you to expect when you Stay at Hilton Tru Hotel. Because they’re all the same and I love that none of them are different so you know what you’re getting when you walk in the door
I booked using the Hilton Honors site. This ended up confusing them when I checked in. I was told by the software that I would get an electronic key. Then I was told I had to see the desk. At the desk they were not sure what happened but said that I could not get the electronic key because I booked in advance. OK. The software said the whole point of booking in advance, checking in and getting the key was so that I would not have to stop at the desk. Clearly there are some problems with that system. The TV in the room was nice but they had it locked down so the input could not be changed. I carry a Roku with me to watch when I travel so this was a big problem. Fortunately, they use an external box to provide the TV experience and that box connects through an HDMI port. I just unplugged their box and plugged in my Roku and that problem was solved. This is the only hotel that I have ever stayed out that actively tried to keep me from using an external input. The furniture in the room was functional but not high quality. It was serviceable and neat but small and I would not choose a long term stay here. All except the desk chair. The desk chair was broken. I asked them to replace it, but they never did. I ended up going to one of their meeting rooms and borrowing one of the meeting chairs. I was there four days and my room was never serviced. The sign in the room said I would get serviced every other day. I did not bother to go ask why as trips to the desk generally did not do any good. The location is great if you are staying in Allen. Not so close to Dallas and the traffic from the hotel to Dallas makes travel a challenge. The breakfast provided is what you would expect from a budget hotel. Low quality but adequate. A decent hotel if you want to be in Allen, you get a really good price, and you are not staying long. There are others in the area that are better if the price is the same. I won't stay there again.
We had a very enjoyable stay at this location. Staff were excellent - very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Rooms and Washrooms were very clean. Buffet Breakfast was excellent, and we looked forward to it daily :) Multiple options on hot breakfast was great.

The childrenâs play area looks small at first but it really has quite a variety of activities the kids can do. Slides, SWINGS, lots of climbing areas, ride on bouncy horses. Plus I like that there are lots of shady benches for parents to sit on.
This is a nice park quiet friendly clean safe during this hot summer there's not a lot of shade where the actual play swings and slides are so you may want to come either in the morning or the afternoon
