We continue to return. It's a great destination for a getaway weekend. Service is wonderful, friendly and accommodating, and the rooms/ cabins are really fantastic. Comfortable, beautifully appointed and with stunning views of the lake. The grounds are also quite lovely with outdoor patios and shuffle board courts etc. Could not ask for more.
We were just here this weekend. It’s been my first time back since we went as kids. It’s exactly as I remember it. The cabins smell of fresh pine and outdoor adventures. The amenities make spending time with family something to remember. Don’t worry if you didn’t bring culinary supplies or anything else, there are pots and pans in the kitchen and a few grocery stores just down the road. It’s home away from home. The view of the lake and mountains from Trout House are stunning. Every glance towards the lake just makes you want to stay forever. Trout House even has boats and a little marina for you to spend your day on the lake. The jet tubs make the end of the day nothing but relaxation. Staying here is great investment. We hope you enjoy and we hope to be back so soon.
It's been a few years but every time we go here we come back home totally relaxed And rejuvenated. If you like The feelings of being in the mountain And doing some light hiking And row boating and bicycling And even some horseback riding This is the place to come to. Please check out their site So you can see the rooms. It's updated and you feel like you're staying in a log cabin But with today's amenities.
Amazing place to stay. Cozy, very well taken care of, clean, right on the lake. They have everything you can think off- paddle boats, canoe, raw boats, kayaks. They also have bikes, games. This is the place where you want to come over and over again. We stayed there 2 nights and wish we could stay longer. Definitely coming back again in the near future.
My family and I have been going to Trout House Village for 40 years. From the time we arrive , to our departure (sadly) , our experience has always been impeccable. It’s a beautiful resort, filled with lots of amenities, and lots of love from the Patchett’s , staff and their fur babies. Already counting down our trip for next year ! Arrived home on Saturday, and already missing my family and my Trout House family . Have a great year and see you in July !
Scott and Alice are amazing hosts - we look forward to our family vacation at the Trout House every year. They have an amazing beach, dock space available, kayaks, row boats, canoes, and more! If you're looking for a wonderful place to spend some time enjoying the beautiful Lake George, you must visit the Trout House!
We love the view of Lake George and the beach where you can swim or kayak. There's a fantastic kitchen, big porch and an outdoor fire stove. We came for a wedding but look forward to returning here for fun.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve been coming to Trout House. I don’t come here every year but when we do, it’s always in the fall. Usually October for my birthday. For us, and our dollar, this is the BEST place to stay ok Lake George. Keep in mind, it’s not in Lake George Village so there’s a bit of s drive to get into LGV (about 25 miles). |The Pros: all the cabins have a great view of the lake. Over the years I’ve stayed in two different cabins. General Borgeouyne and Ethan Allen Log. Ethan Allen Log (not the Ethan Allen patio) is my favorite, feels like home to me. |The staff are all really nice, helpful people. They know what they’re doing around here that’s for sure. They take care of your needs as a guest here, but they also leave you alone and don’t bother you! |The views. You’ll never get bored of the amazing views and because the resort property is so large, you’ll get all kinds of amazing views and pictures |It’s open year round. I love the off season because it’s not crowded, it’s very quiet and you’ll appreciate the privacy. But if you’re a summer person, there’s lots of activities right on the property that’s fun for families or couples or a bunch of friends getting together. |They base prices on seasons which is fair! Why would I pay a higher summer price in the dead of winter? |Wood burning fireplaces. Some cabins have gas but I prefer a nice crackling wood burning fireplace. They set it all up for your first night, after that it’s up to the guest to build your fire. Which takes literally two minutes because they provide everything! Wood, kindling, matches, newspaper etc. |It’s just simply beautiful ||The cons:|Not too many negative things to say, honestly. I’ve never had any issues with service, price, billing, reservations etc. everything always goes smoothly. |The cell service can be spotty. But come here to get away from the cell phones and internet! It’s not too much of an issue. Non connnection only happens sometimes. ||Tips: I would come ready and packed with groceries and the things from home that keep you comfortable. You cannot just “run to the store” around here. The stores are not close by and can have weird hours in the off season. So make sure you bring the hygiene products you need, food for cooking (if you stay longer than two days, you’ll definitely be doing some of your own cooking) bring all your snacks, bring food that you love but that’s easy to prepare. They have a full stocked kitchen so you don’t need pots pans dish cleaner etc. bring your alcohol with you if you plan to have drinks etc. just do a good supermarket shop before coming so you’re prepared. Again, shopping for that stuff up here is not easy and would definitely be an interruption in your fun. ||Overall: it’s fun, beautiful and most importantly to me, relaxing. I don’t come here to do much. We hang out, go into town (bolting landing and lake George village) do some souvenir shopping, go out to eat etc. but there’s lots more to do if you’re looking for fun lake activities. We mainly come for relaxation, getting out of the suburbs, not do too much driving etc. kids will love it here but bring their stuff from home that keep them occupied during the downtime or you’ll have a bored kid at night and that’s no fun for parents. So make sure they have their things with them to keep them entertained. |It’s a great place, five stars as usual. No complaints. We will be back!
