Tropical Inn & Suites - Motel in Clearwater - 1320 Cleveland St, USA

Booked an overnight stay ahead of a concert at The Sound at Coachman Park. Tropical Inn & Suites is a little over a mile away, and if the weather is right (and it was) it's a wonderful walk to the venue and back. The hotel has a great sitting area in the courtyard and a pool that looked well taken care of. The staff is friendly, rooms are clean and we had a great night's sleep afterward. If I'm ever again catching a show at The Sound this will be my place to stay.

It felt like I was transported back in time, in a good way. This place has charm, and the effort to maintain the property's character while satisfying guests is evident. It is easy to tell there is love put into keeping up the property. Don't expect the bells and whistles you see in newer hotels; even the TV channels speak to years gone by. But sometimes, stepping back puts things into perspective, slows us down, and makes us appreciate what we have. I would happily return!

Always clean. Pool is clean and nice. Stayed here many times and it is always clean and the couple who own it and run it are awesome. Always welcoming and never disappointing when I stay. Wish they had a smoking room since Floridians are allowed medical marijuana if they have card so they should make an allowance for that. Old women shouldn’t have to walk out to parking lot at night to smoke in their car. Not the very best area if Clearwater so not always a good risk to take.

An absolute diamond in the rough. Friendly staff, great price, recently remodeled and extremely clean. The court yard and pool area have a real Floridian vibe. Close to everything Florida has to offer; beach, marinas, and amazing sunsets. I will definitely be telling my friends and rebooking here for my future visits.

We had an awesome stay here for the weekend. The room and staff are by far the best. Really nice people. We will definitely be using this hotel again. Rooms are clean and very neat. We appreciated the extra room amenities such as the extra seating, mini fridge, and microwave. The property is very tropical with a great courtyard and lovely pool. The property was very quiet so getting a great night’s sleep was easy here. This property is a short drive to Clearwater Beach and other local beaches. Also great area for dining and shopping.

This place is a hidden gem! Very clean and updated. A comfortable bed, WiFi and a hot shower was all I needed but I really hate run down and dirty motels. This place was super clean and well maintained with good WiFi so I could work. Reasonable price in a quiet area of town that is central enough to everything I needed.

I’m a disabled military Veteran. I tried to book a room here. The front office was locked and closed. I called the number on the front door, a man answered frustrated I called saying I was at the office to book a room from the office rather than online. Prices varied from site to site, most motels & hotels beat the online prices when you go to the office directly. The gentleman came to the office and was very rude. He told me check in time wasn’t until 3pm, he didn’t want to book me a room. I was here only 30 minutes early, at least I could have reserved a room and got something to eat. There’s no cars parked here and no activity around the hotel, you would think he would want business. Not sure what his deal was, but his attitude and hostility made me feel very unwelcomed. This is the first time I have posted a negative review, I’m really laid back and easy to please.

The staff and location is nice. The rooms are clean. I had trouble with wifi and just used my hotspot. Even though I was informed to run the hot water for a while because it has a long way to travel, it took the hot water a very long time to start warming up.
