I was happy to see people took time to rescue the tree. Was great to see that part of town cause it was so old. Also the concept of the tree owning its self. Makes me curious if every acorn that sprouts from it, would be entitled to its own rights as well. If so people should plants more of it.
Good looking tree. Incredible concept and history. Bumpy, old-fashioned cobblestone road to get there. The whole experience took about 5 mins.
What a beautiful area, the weather was amazing! Always wanted to visit this tree, which is definitely worth the visit! We parked off the street and walked over, took some pictures! The houses are simply gorgeous! The little cobblestone street is very pretty.
This was a fun side quest. The tree and the 8 feet around it seem to be doing well, even in winter. Easy to find, maps takes you right there. Interesting stop and a little jealous of the tree getting its own space and owning itself!
If you have a connection to trees, like I do, this will make you philosophical & in awe. It's a beautiful tree and a reminder that anything is possible. I wrote a book about talking to the trees, so of course, had to visit this iconic and special tree.
Protect more trees from aggressive car-centric development.
Every tree should own itself and live out its natural life span. When you’re cutting down the planet’s lungs what do you think we’ll all breathe when they’re gone?
This tree is in a residential area. We got lucky and there wasn't any traffic so we hopped out and took a few pictures. Not sure if there is parking nearby but the street was lined with cars so you might be able to find parking.

This was my very first time coming to this location and I have to say the environment is beyond chill, but the very best oart is the staff especially the female bar tender (I wish I got her name) she is super attentive and sweet. The best service I h
Been going here for a long time now! Beyond grateful for the awesome staff and conversations with customers Ive had. BEST kava around. My favorite is the open mic nights on wednesdays!
On April 20, 2023, the ribbon cutting ceremony reopened the trestle as part of the Firefly trail. While the trestle has been completely rebuilt, the replacement honors the important place that the trestle has played in Athens history including but r
Unfortunately we had to have our bearded dragon put to sleep. Everyone was so nice and compassionate. They took really good care of us and my dragon. They explained everything and didn't rush us. The added memory tile of his paws and tail was a wonde
I have been here twice now and it is always a pleasure. The nature center is smaller than most paid attractions, but hey it is free! The trails are nice from what I have seen and the staff was also very courteous. It was a great location to practice
UGA games are a great time! The stadium is clean, easy to access, and provides transportation to and from the parking garages. Great food but does not serve alcoholic beverages. You must tailgate for that experience. Have fun! Go Dogs!
Husband and I have a wonderful time whenever we visit The Table Bistro. Our most recent visit was on a Wednesday afternoon around 12pm, so we knew we were hitting the lunch rush. When we were seated, we were immediately warned that the kitchen was ru
