Travelodge by Wyndham Macon West - Featured Reviews (16)
Stopped here for the night on the road from MO to FL. We typically stay elsewhere in Macon but wanted to save some money. This was not horrible, but not worth the money saved. The room was decently clean, but in a general state of disrepair. Rusty fridge, uneven floor, busted vanity, dripping, mildewy tub. All things I could mostly overlook since it was just a quick overnight stay along our drive. The major cons were the fact that it was clear that many, many people lived there. Not staying - living, like an apartment complex…and not a well kept one, either. Cigar wrappers lodged between the columns and the rain pipes, shoes littered outside doors, people outside on porches with children playing outside late into the night/early in the morning, large, menacing looking dogs wandering loose (with collars, clearly not strays). Not that we had intended on using it, but the pool was drained for whatever reason. The AC was not turned on when we arrived either, which was a bummer since A) it was 90+ degrees outside and B) we’d had this reservation for weeks, so it’s not like they didn’t know we were coming. Overall, wouldn’t stay here again unless I was with adults only (no kids) and seriously needed to save the money.
This place is awesome! I was the weary traveler. Aka , just needed a place to shower and sleep. The price was awesome, the front desk was awesome. Aka, enjoy your rest...! When I got to the room it was clean! There was a night light built into the hairdryer! The only bit of advice I could possibly put out there is, don't close the pool so early. This is Georgia, closing the pool at Halloween would be just fine! Highly recommend this Travelodge!
Updated post I was back there again for a few more days. the first few days. First room toilet had issues hence there was a plunger beside the toilet. I don't know who was intended to use it ( of course not me the guest). If house keeping is done why was And the housekeeper should have informed some one about things not working in the room. Once again no wash cloth or towels. I had to be taken to the store to purchase my own. Even though I was able to switch to a roo. that was supposed to have been better. IT WASN'T--there was no wash cloth or towel in the second room. The trash can was outside the room and the TV remote was in it I'm guessing that the housekeeper quit or perhaps had an emergency that needed to be attended The last few days after I brought microwaveable food, the microwave wasn't in room. Apparently the security cameras have malfunctioned because between 12am-2am there was a couple arguing and throwing items.
First of all the pool wasn’t up and going. The room smelled like mildew The bathtubs don’t plug up to take a bath. When I walked into the room the bathroom floor was soaked with water. The freezer still had previous peoples food in it. The floor has a soft spot. I have no clue how it was given a 5 start rating.
An abandoned filthy pool is the first thing you see when arriving at the hotel. The room smelled like sewage. I asked the front desk for a different room, he gave me the key to another room that smelled like cigarette. After a discussion with the front desk, I was offered another room which smelled like mold. I decided to stay with the mold room as it was late and I was tired. A big bin full of trash was in front of the room, uncovered. Later while watching tv, we had a roach flying in the room. If you want to fell like a human, I recommend spending a few bucks more and getting a decent room in another hotel.
This is on the "other" side of the highway from where the rest of the hotels/motels were located. The motel looked like it had been updated recently. Had some spiders in the room since it looks like maybe a lot of people don't know it exists. Room was clean, towels/washcloths need to be replaced. They were threadbare. I do like staying motels since you can back your vehicle right up to the door. For the price this place was great. Wouldn't hesitate to stay as a stopover to/from Florida.
Stayed there over the weekend. Nice location right off the main highway. Rooms were clean and it was quite. The best part was the beds. There was lot of options to eat within a mile. Will defiantly come back.
Very clean, courteous, location was good! Only 1 thing I could say was the room was SMALL! Just enough room to walk but I was comfortable for sure
Walking on the treadmill, you see the following words written on the wall: hard work, determination and dedication. Yes, these words inspire you, but the best inspiration is Anthony Bright. He is amazing! With a combination of tough love and caring e
