Travelodge by Wyndham Elko NV - Hotel in Elko - 1785 Idaho St, USA

The staff were excellent, all were helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the room was horrible. The bathtub was filthy, the vents on the AC was loaded with dirt and dust, fire alarm was hanging from the ceiling and the hallways were dirty with carpet that should have been replaced years ago. My biggest complaint is how much better of a price you get if you book online vs. just walking in, what a rip off. I'll never stay at another Travel Lodge after this experience.

This was the worst room I've ever stayed in, which is saying something. The carpet and bathroom floor were filthy, there was a layer of dust on all surfaces, the faucet only spit out hot water, I couldn't get the shower to work which they said was my fault, the shower was disgustingly dirty and the toilet looked like it had never been cleaned. Several of the outlets had missing or damaged covers which had to be a safety hazard. When I couldn't get the shower to work, I finally called down to the front desk and they were rude and unhelpful. Needless to say, I will not be back.

Positive: Location, parking, it was quiet. Negative: This place is a dump. The mattress was lumpy, the bedspread smelled, the side table was stickey, and the carpet was dirty. The internet didn't work and there were no instructions for using the TV. There is no elevator. Why is this a Wyndham property?

The hotel was nasty. I had feces on my "clean" towels. Hair and stain all over my sheets. Pay almost 100 for a night here I mean I did expect perfection just not trash.

This place is horrible. Staff is rude, not clean it’s embarrassing. this hotel took money from my card and called me saying i can’t stay there because it was already “ booked” but online says it’s not booked out. DO NOT RECOMMEND. find a better hotel.

Horrible. Rundown and dirty. Hard to imagine how Wyndham allows this place to remain open. Hallway carpets stained and worn through to the backing. Entered the room to find dust bunnies, white flakes of something, and hair pins on the floor so obviously not vacuumed. Toilet wouldn't flush so they gave keys to another room so we could move. Opened that room to find someone occupying it. Front desk said "that's weird there shouldn't be anyone there." No other rooms to move us to so back to the original. Next morning discovered shower (filthy by the way) had no hot water. Hot water to sink, so it wasn't a matter of hot water not being available, but rather a problem with the shower valve. The wall behind the shower had been opened up and roughly patched and the carpet was wet, so they knew something was wrong. Complained and was told they couldn't do anything about it, and had no rooms to move us to. Five days with no hot water in the shower. No discount or credit. Payed $149 a night rather than the normal $45 because of a big convention in town. Ran out of breakfast food an hour or so before end of breakfast hours. Ran out of milk for cereal on Saturday and was told they'd have more on Monday. I could go on and on. Horrible. Do not stay.

Positive: Came in late check-in..desk clerk was a ok, but at 8 am the most obnoxious cleaning person tapping on my door (they don¿t have ¿do not disturb¿ signs to pig out ) starts with a loud tapping on my door, with what sounded like a metal device 11 am checkout! Negative: This ignorant person looked at me like an ignorant animalI said that checkout is 11am and still the ignorant look on this person face was so aggravating hate passive aggressive interactions like this so I went back to bed got to at 10:30 left disgusted! Horrible experience. First off, housekeeping will clean your room every other day (at best), and they are not thoroughly cleaned either. My first impression of this motel (I’ve stayed here on two separate occasions for a total of 16 days) was a gentleman and his wife requesting to cancel their reservation, obviously because they had seen the quality of their room upon arrival and did not wish to spend an evening there. The real kicker of this is the scam that they ran on me (after I had already checked out, left town and returned home). I was charged $250 to my card on file. When I called to inquire about this, I was told that it was for “Smoking And Drug Use”, which was odd: I don’t smoke, I don’t use drugs (or even drink alcohol) and had no visitors to the room. I called the motel, and the front desk agent had no actual insight into the situation, but told me that the manager would be in the following day and that I could speak with her. Fair enough. I called the following day. Different front desk agent who also cannot lend any insight into the situation. Manager wasn’t there but would be in two days later. Okay. Third time’s a charm: I make contact with the manager (name: Heather) on the third attempt, and give her my information. She said that “drug paraphernalia” was found in the drawer of the nightstand (which I didn’t once open during my stay). She did not give any specific details as to what this paraphernalia was, nor offered to provide the (supposed) photos of the (supposed) paraphernalia that had been found. When I told her that I did not once utilize or even open that drawer, she insisted that I must have (“I’m pretty sure that you would have opened all the drawers in your stay”). She then told me she was sorry that I “got caught”, and that my legal signature for the room was binding and that I was responsible for the charge. Whatever: she can take it up with the credit card company. From what I have heard from both locals and read online, this is a common scam, and visitors should (preferably not stay here) thoroughly inspect and document the condition of their room before checking out (and every time that you do leave the room). Read reviews of this motel and the attached Super 8: you will find many accounts of dirty, uncleaned rooms and drug paraphernalia found in them by guests. I wish I had before trusting these folks with my credit card information. Do yourself a favor and spare yourself a massive headache by not ever staying here.
