2 nights, check in July 3rd, check out 5th
If this was the ONLY place available, I'd stay here again. $282.43 total, overpriced for what it is-FULLS advertised as QUEENS.
Pros:
Clean rooms, no bugs, comfortable smaller than stated beds, good pillows, air conditioner and fridge both work really well.
Shutters, not curtains, like that feature.
Clean grounds, good parking
_
Didn't use microwave, tv, alarm clock, phone, wifi, ice machine or pool.
_
Cons:
These are FULL beds, NOT QUEENS, no bathmat, had to use 1 bath towel for floor, tub is slick, had to use a hand towel for traction, no dirty clothes bags, no emergency exit plan signage, no idea when check out time was, front desk "printers not working right now" so no receipt and didnt sign any documentation, but we have our bookings reservation and photos.
Positive: As soon as I opened the room door I could smell that the room was clean. That is very important. Negative: It was unfortunately a little bit too noisy. Negative: ""
This place has been here longer than most everything around it. For all that time all they've ever been interested in is stealing people's money.
Sight unseen... we decided to stay in Clearlake area on our way home from a two week trip. We wanted a quiet place on the lake. We were completely unaware of the high crime rate and level and frequency of violence from which this community suffers. We heard loud arguments and screaming from within 30 feet of our room, loud rap music coming from an adjacent room without intervention from the hotel staff. We left at 3 am quietly as we felt unsafe. It was a weird experience.
Greeted by accomodating owner. Room was smelling nice and very clean. Highly recommend. Was quite and located next to local stores. Was a nice town on a pit stop to Eureka California .. will definitely stay again and with the Wyndham motels. They have always been nice. Thank you
Would give 0 stars if possible. The front desk person is a liar and a thief. We arrived to check in at about 10 pm after driving 4 hours. My mother-in-law had booked the room for us online and was told everything was taken care of and we could just check in, get keys, and go sleep. Upon arriving we were told that there was a $150 security deposit that was refundable upon checkout, which is completely normal but we were not told about. We handed the man (who was extremely rude and confrontational out the gate with us) my husband's ID and debit card. Without telling us he charged the room for the 2 nights AND THEN tried to charge the security deposit, which bounced because we had only budgeted a certain amount for this trip. We called my MIL and he refused to talk to her, telling us that he wanted the money and didn't care what was going on. We went outside to talk to my MIL and then contacted my brother-in-law in Kelseyville to stay with him instead, which I might add was quite out of the way for us to have to do. I went back inside and requested that the charge be cancelled as we were not told what was being charged. The man said we had to pay one night at least due to the cancellation. I told him that he did not tell us what he was charging and that we would not be staying. He told me to call corporate, and upon me asking for the number he refused to give it to me telling me to look it up myself. The charge for the 2 nights is still pending in my husbands bank so he didn't even refund us the one night like he said he would. This place is a SCAM and a DUMP.
Perhaps it was simply an unfavorable locality, but regrettably, my accommodations did not meet the expected standards.
The room was nice. The desk clerk? Not so much. He lies.
After traveling all day, I called at 9:36 at night looking for 2 queen beds. I was told yes, they had a room, he took my information and my credit card number to reserve it. I showed up at the hotel about 5 minutes later, waited for the extremely slow clerk for about 15 minutes to finish up with the lady in front of me. I got checked in and was told my room number. I asked where it was and he said in the back side of the building. You can’t park back there. I said can I at least drive around to unload? Ya but no parking. So I head out to drive around. There’s a baseball field behind the hotel; you can’t drive around! So I pull back around to the front and see multiple homeless people hanging out in the parking lot and walking the hallway around the hotel. The room was nice, beautifully decorated but I didn’t get two queens, I was given 2 doubles. They are not the same! When I opened my email I had 7 confirmation/modification emails. The first 5 said 2 queen beds. The last two said 2 doubles. Too exhausted to argue with the front desk I waited until morning to ask about the difference. The next morning we found that we were only given one coffee pod in the room so my husband went to the front desk for more. It was 830 am. Desk clerk was the same from the night before. My husband had to use the night window and apparently woke the guy. At 915, I went to checkout. At the night window. He was disheveled and obviously still half asleep. I asked him about the bed issue and he told me that he didn’t have the queens so he gave me the doubles because they are the same. I reminded him of my phone call the night before when he told me he had a double queen room. He lied to me. When I asked about the cost he said they were all the same. I got disgusted with him shoved my room keys through the tiny slot and told him to check me out of my room. And walked away. I don’t plan on ever being in that area again but I can tell you, I may never go to a TraveLodge again especially at the prices they charge.

Still dreaming about the humongous apple fritter... best apple fritter that I've had in years! It was amazing - just the right balance of crunchy fried dough with apples. That donut would have easily been sold for $6+ in San Francisco.
