Travelier Motel Macon - Motel in Macon - 201 E Briggs Dr, USA

I've been here before and it's the same. The pungent odor and outdated furniture is the same. I just checked out immediately after seeing a roach crawling on the a/c while another one is dead in the bathroom on the floor. The tub is rusted out and needs to be replaced or resurfaced. The carpet is definitely old and moldy. Overall the place needs to be remodeled completely there shouldn't be a toilet close to the wall like in some of the other rooms. For the price you get what you pay for so bring your cleaning supplies and roach spray and house shoes.

I am originally from Macon Mo. Moved back here to be with my sons and grandkids. Eventually hopeing to find a small Apt. to rent. I have been here about 2 weeks now. The staff here have been very friendly and respectful to me. It's clean and quiet, the breakfast in the morning. And if I need something the staff takes care of it. I recommend this place to any one traveling through or needing a place to stay.

We've stayed here in the past but it's been a few years and after reading a few reviews we weren't sure about staying again, but we were pleasantly surprised to find it was clean and comfortable and still reasonably priced. If you like staying at an older, 50s style motor inn or if you just need a place for a safe, good night's sleep, this is the place for you.

Have stayed here multiple times and will always pick this place when needed...first, because they are dog friendly...second, the owners are ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL and very friendly and accommodating...third, it's simply worth the stay...THANK YOU Travelier Motel

This is not a great motel, especially considering the price. The first room we got had a strong mildew smell. After being in there for around 30 mins, I had an asthma attack. I went to the desk and explained that I knew they had a no refund policy, but that I couldn't stay in there. She offered me another room. I agreed to try it. This one didn't smell like mildew, so I could breathe at least, and I agreed to stay. However, the rooms aren't clean, the sheets were dirty or stained, the bathroom isn't clean, and the floor in the room is dirty. Everything is pretty outdated. Even just updating their linens would help a lot. On the positive side, the people running it are nice.

Only downfall that we could see was the toilet position made it almost impossible for you to sit on it properly. It was right up against the tub where your knees should have been. You had to sit sideways. The person in the next room had some reason I guess to keep slamming doors. (Plus side) the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We appreciated that we could have our service dogs which means a lot to us. The staff was very polite.

Parking was easy to move around in. I'm sorry but that is about the only positive thing I can say. The bathroom was clean, except the floor was sticky. Bed cover had several burn holes. The sheets were too small for the queen size bed. The floor was dirty, so we had to dust our feet off before getting into the bed. Upon looking around in the morning there was food, other people's socks, food, napkins, and garbage under the bed. There was mouse feces along the wall. We did NOT find any bedbugs or any other kind of bugs, believe me, after finding mouse signs, we looked. We wanted to prepare for our cleaning procedure after our stay. I'm sorry to leave such a bad review. The people were pleasant and professional at the front desk when we checked in. We did not see anyone when we left at 7am. Breakfast was coffee and prepackaged food so nice and sanitary.

The bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet. Those were the good features. The room was very dank like a basement. It was musky and the HVAC filter was covered with black fuzz. We went and got Lysol and Clorox wipes and did some cleaning. The carpet could use a good cleaning too. There was a strict non-smoking policy, which we appreciated (we have severe allergies). There were cigarette butts all throughout the parking area. A good sweeping would improve the appearance. They would benefit by running an ionizer in all their rooms after cleaning. It is a handy location and if they did more rigorous cleaning it could be a very popular place to stay. There was no ice machine. Overall, I would give them a "C" and I would recommend it as a safe place to get a "no frills" night's sleep. The workers were pleasant.
