Clean room quiet premises. The bed was hard as a brick and left me feeling sore the next day. The pillows were also firm and uncomfortable. The towels were dingy and disgusting and should have been disposed of long ago. It seemed as though they weren't even washed.
Not fancy, but clean, economical & reasonably quiet. A little skimpy on the amenities but a good place for a short stay. 20 minutes from LAX.
You think but didn't even think how nice a small out of the bad . this place was overall good vibes good place to rest.anddd I will definitely keep this on my favorites to return
Jed is the worlds greatest Motel manage, very attentive to his guest needs , the staff cleaning ladies are truly incredible kind and most helpful 5 STARS IN MY BOOK
The pictures are misleading! It had a shady motel feel:
-The area is okay but seemingly druggie types were walking around...at least it's next to the beach and good shopping/fast food options!
-A Cigarette burn hole was in the sheet (I'm very glad I brought my own blanket).
-The bathroom door paint was scraped off on the bottom and the tub looked grungy. (You can tell it was cleaned but it there was ground in dirt and the place is just so old and run down)
-They made us pay a CASH ONLY $40 deposit at check in. We got it back after he looked at the room when we left. But is that legal??
-Staff member was rude! (he didn't explain why there's was a deposit that was not mentioned anywhere in my reservation, and acted annoyed that I questioned him. It was 2am so I didn't have the energy to fuss).
One positive is it had a strong smell of a Fabulouso cleaner. At least someone wiped things down. But if that bothered you It'd be overwhelmingly terrible!
I booked two nights at this place at the last minute because I was coming in for a funeral.
Pros: The room was clean and didn't smell. There was a clean fridge and microwave oven. No dirty carpeting. Starbucks was on the corner and plenty of shopping and restaurants within walking and driving distance. Close to the airport and freeways.
Cons: $40 cash deposit when you check in, but you do get it back when you check out. The WiFi was spotty as I couldn't get connected. The towels were old and scratchy. No Kleenex to blow your nose. The sheets were okay, but no fitted sheet which was weird. Mattress was hard as a rock! Housekeeping came in to clean, but didn't make the beds?
If you need a night or two's stay on a budget, this would work. This is NOT a hotel, but a motel. There's a difference.
The Wifi doesn't work at all. At ALL. If you want to use Wifi like most people, then don't stay here because it will not work at all. All I can say positive is that I've been in rooms that smelled worse. Bathroom was nasty, shower was covered in hair. Other positive, it was generally quiet and nothing crazy going on outside.
My favorite brewery here in Hawthorne. Staff is always great and friendly. Love their events too. Yeah parking isn't the greatest, but there's plenty nearby. Common Space and LA Ale works have parking issues too sometimes. Just waiting for them to br
