Travel Time Motel - Motel in San Diego - 5447 El Cajon Blvd, USA

For what this place is and does for people it's great. Much appreciate a dry, warm, and clean place to stay. I recently lost everything in a fire and it's always eye opening to see who shows up and lends a hand or in this case risks renting out rooms to those often considered less desirable. Thank you!

The reviews definitely made me hesitant to book a room. The employees were nice. My tv suddenly stopped working and they immediately came up to see what the issue was and moved us to a new room. My second room was better than the first, there wasn’t a gap between the front door and the floor and the bathroom was bigger. The room didn’t have a iron, not sure if I had to ask the employees for one. Parking is limited. Had to park in a residential neighborhood at night. Our room was clean except for hair on the floor in the bathroom. Our room was pest free.

I love this place. The employees are kind and helpful. My room is clean and has all I need. Wish I had a tub but my shower feels amazing so can’t complain. John Is super amazing and very good at working with you and communicating. Id recommend the stay if there was ever vacancies;) it’s always booked the other guest are quiet and nice. It’s just what someone needs when in a tight spot.

I've been at the hotel for over a month and have been very comfortable. Staff is terrific from the beginning to the end of my stay in May. They always greet you with a smile and have been very easy to deal with when something is wrong. ||||The rooms may not have all of the amenities that most hotels have but I have been very very comfortable. ||||I guess the only thing that I would recommend will be that they put in in-room coffee makers.||||The housekeeping staff is terrific know very very friendly as well. ||||Thank you travel time motel for a great stay. I will return again!

I stayed here from 8/16/18 to 8/17, while the motel was under renovation. The front desk person and cleaning staff were friendly. I arrived about 30 minutes after the 3pm check in to find my room was still being cleaned. I waited for about 15 minutes until it was ready, which was no big deal, but still somewhat off-putting.||||Externally, it is tough to comment since the building was being remodeled at the time. The room itself was a decent size, if not a bit sparsely decorated, featuring nice hardwood floors. The bathroom was somewhat small (no tub), but it was adequate.||||Wi-fi was free (up to 5g even, which was a nice surprise) and the amount of channels (in HD) was decent - HBO was free at the time. Interestingly, there were tons of electrical outlets (I counted 12 plus 4 USB). There's plenty of lighting as well - 1 of 7 lights was burned out, which was minor. The green light outside the window was cool and eerie, I liked it.||||The motel is not far from many stores and food options, but the neighborhood is a bit sketchy (I grew up not too far from this area and lived in SD for the first 34 years of my life). Parking was free but there was little security in the area and no gates at the time, so make sure to lock up and remove all valuables.||||Overall, for the price, location, and spaciousness, I'd say my stay here was pretty good!

The price is right. The rooms are clean. Very quiet. Carpet in hallway needs sampoo. Elevator has been broken for more than a month needs to be repaired. Driveway could be steam cleaned otherwise the place is a very comfortable place. Housekeeper employees and receptionist people are very friendly. I would come back if I have to. I recommend this place to anyone.

I lived here about four years ago, but this review is still relevant. Management was happy to take my money for over a year as my husband lay dying in a nursing home and my mental health deteriorated, but after I left the motel and was picked up by police, who took me to a psychiatric facility, no one checked on my room, and my little service dog, for about three days. Naturally, my dog soiled the room, which had a waterproof encasement on the mattress and tile flooring to facilitate cleanup. Nevertheless, when someone from my church came to check on me, he ended up having to lie to management and say I'd sent him to retrieve my dog and belongings because when staff saw the room, they FREAKED OUT. Despite my having been a good resident for so long, had he not lied, not only would all of my things been disposed of, but Animal Control would have taken my dog away and I could have lost him forever. It gets worse. Although I offered to pay for damages, etc., I was told it wasn't necessary - but I was put on a "not allowed" list. I didn't learn this until I went there, exhausted, one night a couple of years later, thinking I didn't have the energy to get home, and requested a room. The desk clerk called the manager, who declined to give permission for me to stay. About a year after that, I dropped by and had a friendly chat with the manager, reassured him that I was emotionally stable, and asked that he take me off of that list. He told me he would, and I was glad that I was no longer being stigmatized...only he didn't. I didn't find out that I was STILL on the list after FOUR YEARS until last month, when I was desperate to find a room for a week for my daughter, who made a sudden decision to visit me. First, a new employee quoted one weekly rate; two days later, the manager's partner quoted another, $80 higher, and insisted that the rate had changed months before. Then another employee quoted the lower price the next day, and when I tried to book at that price, told me she couldn't accept payment from me because I was on that list. I was LIVID. When I tired to reach the manager, his partner told me when to call then, when I called back then. told me to call again a few hours later. After she toyed with me, I asked if there were even any vacancies; she told me there weren't - something she could have told me at the outset rather than play games with me over getting my name off of that list. She was clearly and blatantly discriminating against me. The next day, with my help, my daughter checked into Navajo Lodge, a motel nearby that not only cost less, but had MUCH bigger rooms. I liked it so well that I took a room there, myself. This place is run by people who are comfortable discriminating against and emotionally abusing someone with disabilities, mental and physical. Do you really want to stay here?

This the worst place I have ever stayed in there is no parking the staff is rude. The beds are fold out beds I couldn't sleep. The front desk called my room and accused me of having an unregistered guest when in actuality it was my wife whom I checked in with. There was a fight in the parking lot when I arrived the TV volume doesn't work correctly the air conditioning also doesn't work correctly. No ice machine There is nothing good to eat in walking distance. The other guest seem like vagrants. Someone tampered with our laundry while its was in the dryer. Also they have a no refund policy so as bad as this sounds I'm stuck here till Tuesday. The luggage racks double as a trash bends for the cleaning staff. The cleaning lady refuses to give towels or take trash. People walk by and let their dogs poop on the lawn. Worst hotel experience ever and it ain't over yet. In a nutshell u couldn't pay me to stay here again
