Trapped RGV Escape Rooms - Amusement center in McAllen - 609 US-83 BUS, USA

We chose Taken, it was fun and definitely wasn’t expecting to actually be blindfolded and handcuffed but it added to the excitement. One thing I will add is this room is prob not for you if you’re neurodivergent 🥲 you will get a sensory overload. I did ask the person at the end if there’s a better room for neurodivergents and I think he said it was Outbreak.

This was the 1st escape room that we had done. And for it been in RGV it was pretty awesome. The place was pretty clean, even the restrooms. Will definitely take my teens back.

Took my daughter for her birthday this past weekend and it was a great idea. We had alot of fun and put our minds to work. The hostess was awesome. Will go back again to try the other escape rooms. Kudos to Charly.

I went for my birthday and it was awesome. We did the Mission Moscow. Definitely want to make it a yearly tradition. Don’t be afraid of being blindfolded and cuffed. This is the one thing that made me nervous but it lasts less than a minute well as least the the blindfolded part.

Great experience! Absolutely satisfied from beginning to end. We got there a few minutes late and the staff at the front desk was very understanding. He was fantastic at explaining the rules, always polite and with a smile. Our group did Mission Moscow which turned out to be super fun! The staff watching our room was very helpful and attentive. We got our picture taken after the experience, a nice touch to remember as first timers in an escape room. I definitely recommend this place if you're feeling a lil' adventurous.

Was deducted time without warning so we walked out. They have do not touch stickers everywhere except on some slime jars. I remember being told not to eat the slime prior to entering, but nothing about time deduction. As soon as I opened a jar and was told not to, I immediately closed the jar and put it back, looked at the clock and was deducted 6 minutes. I get these rules are to deter damages from hooligans, but we’re a family of 5. We had just commented prior to the incident of coming back to finish the game and now they lost at least a grand from us playing their four escape rooms multiple times, hope their 6 minute penalty was worth it.

EDIT (3/9): I am thankful to Eric for helping us resolve this right away the following morning in a very professional and understanding manner. I am not usually one to post reviews, but I definitely didn't want what happened to us to happen to anyone else! Though we left unsatisfied, I will say that management was SO helpful. Our newbies in the group will hopefully be willing to try out the escape room experience (done the way it's meant to be) again! --- My group was incredibly disappointed with the Cell Block X room and this location. I recruited some family and talked it up because I have done other escape rooms and loved them. Half of our group were first timers and half of our group had done other escape rooms at various locations. We left VERY dissatisfied as it was clear the room was never fully reset/checked before we entered. Essential clue props were missing, doors were open early that weren't supposed to be open, and the timer stopped after we asked for a clue and the game master realized we didn't have an essential item. The clock never started working again (we assumed due to the error of not having an essential item, we were going to be given more time since we wasted so much time looking for an item that didn't exist in the room). We didn't get a picture at the end like most locations. It wasn't a friendly departure. We weren't read the beginning story like most locations. I'm happy to know not all locations are like this, but to bring in first timers and have this be the experience...sad. It truly felt like a waste of money this time around.

I actually had a lot of fun! This was my first escape room ever, we were not allowed to have our phones to avoid spoiling the puzzle for anyone else which is understandable. The puzzle we did was cell block x and it was honestly a blast. It felt like all of us contributed in some way and nobody was left out . I am so happy this was my first experience in the escape room scene cus it was honestly an amazing time
