Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort - Resort hotel in Marathon - 2600 Overseas Hwy, USA

We came down for a NYE getaway. We’re from St. Petersburg and we would take the drive again anytime! The property is gorgeous! Well kept, easy to navigate and the staff here was the best part! The check in process was as easy as you can get and the GM we met was so very friendly and welcoming! We want to thank Lauren and Rosalyn Jordan for taking care and ensuring our time here was peaceful and memorable! I was proposed to by my better half and they were more than willing to help with any preparations for the big day! The staff and other guests welcomed us with a big cheer and so this place will always hold a special place in our hearts!!!

Nice family resort. Great amenities! Only saw that there could be some updates to items inside the houses….smart TVs and smaller things like that. Otherwise everything was very nice. I especially liked the live music on the beach at sunset! From my observation it was a perfect resort for multiple families. They can have their own space but come together for beach and outdoor activites!

This resort is beautiful. A perfect place to relax and unwind. The townhouses are perfect for a family of four. Yoga on the lawn on Sunday morning was a great way to stretch after traveling from Miami airport. The staff are delightful and the food was delicious. As my daughter said, it is the perfect place to go if you want to sit and relax by the beach or pool. I would say there are two downsides. One is that they do not serve breakfast. We stopped at the local supermarket and bought a few things and that worked for us. The kitchen is fully stocked with coffee maker, coffee, tea and a toaster, as well as other items if you really wanted to cook. Also, you need a car. There is a Starbucks about a 15 minute walk away, on the same side of the street, but you do not want to walk across the highway and all other restaurants require a car. Unfortunately, we did not have the best weather while we were there, so I cannot comment on the water activities. The fitness center is serviceable, though the treadmills are a little dated.

Steve our bartender was awesome! Super cute tiki bar!! The hummus was amazing, I would love if they added a few more vegan options as they were out of the impossible burger but I will definitely be back! Steve made a great rum punch and the beach and views are gorgeous! Love the beach games too!

Off the beaten path gem! Pany & Jove are phenomenal hosts! Keep in mind they are not always open, so confirm availability prior to golf carting 15 miles up the coast from San Pedro area! Lovely dockside dining and bar area makes for incredible vistas. Pany the host is a wealth of knowledge regarding San Pedro and Belize in general. He was worth the trip!

Tranquility Bay is delightful. Low key and fun. The beach houses are clean, spacious and comfortable. The Tiki bar is just the thing for post pool refreshment - Steve is a great bartender. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

I so wanted to love this place. Don't get me wrong, the scenery is beautiful. But our stress started on day 1. Prior to booking I called them and asked about baby crib and heated pool, front desk told me that they have a pack and play and a lot of guests get that, we have been to Marco Island recently and Hilton had a similar set up, with a little pad on the bottle. They also told me the 3 pools on the property were heated it. When we got there, they gave us a pack and play with wood padding, no way a baby could sleep there. Went to talk to the supervisor and she pretty much told me I could leave if I wanted. After a lot of discussion she said they would waive the resort fee so we could rent a crib. Lost half of my first day doing that. Then the pools were all cold, I complained a couple times, but apparently Paco is the pool manager and the only one who can turn on the pool. Only one of the pools were ok by the time we left, Sunday, which gave me the impression they heat it up on the weekend when there are more guests in the hotel. The restaurant on the property has the craziest prices for the food you get, and the hosts gave us attitude for asking for a table away from the fans.

We just finished our one week trip to tranquility bay beach resort during the Thanksgiving holidays. The location and proximity to the beach was even better than the photos we saw in the website. However soon we realized that this resort is not up to its location. They charged us $1200 a night for beach house with 3 rooms. The rooms were very run down, mattresses were horrible and I got very bad back pain from day 2. Service was however another story. I had to call every day 4-5 time to get them to come for house cleaning. None of them would understand English and keeps referring us to front desk. There is no one at the pool to get orders for drinks or snacks. There is no smoking allowed in the entire property even on the beach. There is no toys allowed for kids on the porch. In general I would not recommend this property with this price if you can find anything with better service and better rooms. We will never come back here again.
