I liked the hotel , very clean. I had a situation as to where I was sitting outside on the terrace for 2 days straight. Employees walking in & out ... no one spoke ,or even acknowledged me as being a guest until today . The 2 lady's that do the breakfast area came in & out ... never spoke . But around 7:50 is.. Ms . Cathy came in to work , on her way in , she saw me & parted her lips to say " Good morning " . Out of all the people who work here , that have come in & out of this establishment this morning.... she was the only 1 that spoke .... YAAAAY Ms. Cathy !!
I stayed here twice in two weeks during a round trip journey along 95. The first time the gym was not clean. The elliptical had a lot of dirt on the foot pedals that appeared to be built up over time and I found a candy wrapper in the cup holder. I switched to the other elliptical and found someone’s inhaler in the cup holder. The personal items left can be explained perhaps, but the dirt build up cannot. On the upside, our room was pretty clean. During our second stay 2 weeks later, our room was not clean at all. Perhaps the worst I’ve seen. Personal hair in the shower and on the bathroom floor, dust inside the kitchen cabinet, a layer of dust on top of the cooktop and a large dead bug on the carpet. This room was clearly neglected. I didn’t go back to the gym this time, partially because I was tired and partially because I was afraid what I might find. The positives, the front desk staff couldn’t be nicer. Both times very friendly and professional. And the breakfast area was very clean both times and well maintained. Hotels can be inconsistent I understand, but I won’t be back.
TownePlace Suites by Marriott in 1139 Abercorn in Savannah Ga
We stayed from 7/24/2024-7/27/2024
In a two bedroom suite this was an apartment- we all love it( we travel a lot )
The hotel was convenient to everything. We could walk over to the olive garden, and it was easy to get to Tybee Island. The staff did their job- Torrie (from maid service) made sure we had what we needed for our room in due time. Wanda, we must say, was the best. She did everything from checking us in, doing a follow up to make sure we were comfortable, and made sure doing our stay we had everything we needed. This was a great hotel and staff
I was quite surprised at how nice the rooms were. I had a full kitchen including stove and dishwasher, and the cabinets and drawers included all utensils, cups, plates and pans that I might've needed. There was actually even dish soap and dishwasher tablets as well. There was a hotel style coffeemaker and a toaster in the cabinet. The bed was very comfortable and the sofa was surprisingly comfortable as well. One thing that they should have is a small dining table and chairs, the room is certainly large enough and there's a big empty space in the corner where it seems like something like that should go. The TV had a good number of channels and best of all had the ability to play Netflix and other streaming services. The breakfast was pretty good, the workers were quite friendly. As others have said, the air conditioner was kind of a pain but it kept the room nice and cold. They also had a big board at the front desk that listed a lot of tour options that one could consider. I only had one night so I didn't explore Savannah. But I would stay at this hotel again.
I can't give an accurate review of the rooms, because we didn't end up staying at this property, but my daughter and I were waiting for my husband who was at the airport rebooking a cancelled flight, and they were so extremely welcoming to us. We weren't sure if we would need a room, but my two year old needed to go the restroom and I was extremely stressed at the situation of our cancelled flight. Liv and Justice were at the front desk and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make us feel comfortable and welcome. They gave my daughter snacks and turned on her favorite show in the lobby TV and were going to try and get us a room when they thought they might be sold out. I was so touched by their warmth, kindness and generosity. My parents fly out of the Savannah airport a lot and I will 100% tell them to stay here whenever they are close by.
Late review. I stayed here maybe 2 weeks ago on a rewards night. This hotel overall is not up to Marriott standards the cleanliness is below standard, the tv did not work and it was something else that made my stay unenjoyable but I can’t recall at the moment I have attached pics. The dust on top of the fridge, the silverware dirty and the cabinets dirty
I remember now the heat did not work and I was cold at night! Never will I waste my rewards night on this location
Update: I stayed again and yeah the dishes are still dirty, poor customer service and it was a towel on the back of the door when I checked in
My family and I enjoyed our stay here in Savannah GA indeed. We arrived here for a special occasion for my beautiful sister . The staff was very respectful , professional at all times. The breakfast was great and the food area was kept clean at all times which is a plus. If you ever come to this beautiful city for a place to rest and relax , this is the residence. Thank you all again.
We stopped here while passing through to Florida. Good clean stay. The service was friendly and no issues. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Easy on and off from I-95. The breakfast WS adequate. Typical Marriott offered food. We would stay again.

Was traveling through and had the privilege of working out with a fun and talented group. The online sign up was super easy, was able to sign my waiver and reserve a class in a jiff. The gym was conveniently located and a quick walk from my hotel. T
