Of all the TownePlace Suites by Marriott I have ever stayed in, this is by far and away the best I have found. As soon as you walk in the doors you can tell it is a newer property, I would say within the last 3 or 4 years given how impeccably clean it is. The lovely Candace provided a warm, Marriott-style welcome, and I also appreciated the kindness of the gentleman who was manning the night audit desk, whose name I unfortunately did not get. My room was clean, and I especially appreciated the huge shower. Special kudos to the amazing Brenda, whose attention to every single guest at breakfast did not go unnoticed and should be applauded by any and all who happen to read this review. Bravo, team!

The hotel is not bad. However, you would definitely expect better. The beds are very uncomfortable and look old as they’ve lost their shape. Service is subpar at best. I specifically asked for my room to get serviced on a particular day and my request was not met. Additionally we’ve been bothered by multiple fire alarm tests and water shut off notices due to maintenance issues. I will not stay at this particular hotel on my next visit.

The 10min airport shuttle ended up being a 25min wait at 8pm. I called the hotel twice to confirm and even saw neighboring hotel shuttles loop twice during my wait. When it finally arrived, before I could even take a seat in the first row, the driver already started driving causing me to stumble into my seat. The drive to the hotel revealed an easy drive with zero traffic. I only saw two cars on the opposite side of the road. Upon walking in, there’s a distinct dampness and smell in the air. The service here is lackluster with no smiles or warmth in interactions. The service doesn’t align with the expectations within the Marriott portfolio. The room was fairly spacious, modern, quiet, and clean. Bed was comfortable. Wifi signal is good. TV had mixed signal occasionally skewing the quality a few seconds every 30mins or so. Breakfast and gym seems sparse and sad. Bottled drinks are $3-$5. Overall, ok for a necessary pitstop.

Stayed here with the fam during g a baseball tournament. Pros: the kitchenette in the room (full size fridge and freezer!!), the complimentary breakfast. Both so appreciated!! Cons: The closet area is terrible (it’s in the bathroom!) and there is no place to put suitcases. Also one elevator was broken, the other slow and the place just a bit run down (especially compared to the hotel next door). Staff was friendly, except when they told me I couldn’t get towels for at least 30 min because they couldn’t leave the desk. (Maybe have some available so you don’t have to leave the desk area?!?) It was late and we wanted to get showered and to bed— not what I wanted to hear. Parking was good. Not much close by the location for food or a store.

I have stayed at several of these hotels and this is the best TownePlace suites I’ve stayed in. Caution! The hotel called TownePlace suites in Overland Park is terrible. Don’t fall for that place. It’s a dump. This location at Briarcliff is the good one and there are some excellent restaurants across the street and it’s in a nice neighborhood. Very pet friendly.

Positive: Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff. Great location for our travel needs. Clean and well appointed. Negative: Wish there had been a bike in the fitness center.

I checked in the Hotel on Jul 5 plan on stating until Jul 26. I found out that my job was extending my rotation. So, I asked if I could extend my stay until Aug 1. I was told that the hotel could not extend my stay. There was no action taking on the part of hotel to try an accommodate me in my opinion. I informed them I would check out today and would not ever be staying at this location again. I was told by the hotel manager that it was too late in the day, and he would be charging me for the entire day. I informed him that I disagree. What's the point of being a Marriott Bonvoy member. This DID NOT HELP. What's the point of the program.

Stayed last weekend for 2 nights Friday and Saturday. king studio with kitchen. Arrived 730pm ish. When we entered our room we noticed the floors haven’t been vacuumed and tiny crumbs were all over the floor. The hard surfaces were a little on dusty side. When I called for service at 740pm the front desk Carlos said he would handle it. I waited a few minutes and then decided to use my app and start a chat hoping to receive faster service. Turns out Carlos was the help via the app on phone. Requested room to be cleaned and 2 more towels. So I waited another 10min. Finally it was 750pm and just went down and asked for a vacuum and cleaned it my self. And used a damp towel to wipe surfaces down. I still have not heard a response. No text, call or email from management. Highly suggest staying elsewhere for the amount of money and time you might waste picking up after the guest before you. Save your self the headache as management will not reach out to resolve.
