TownePlace Suites Gallup - Hotel in Gallup - 3920 E Historic Hwy 66, USA

Fairly nice set up a bit outside of town. The floors are pretty thin, can hear people from upstairs pretty easy. Had a particularly noisy upstairs neighbor and I went to the office to ask if they could switch my rooms. Sal, the front desk worker, was straight with me and said there's a lot of kids throughout the hotel and that my next room may not be better, but that he'd go talk to the room above and I didn't hear a peep the rest of the night. Shout out to Sal for being super chill and awesome throughout my stay.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with sofa bed. Room is spacious and clean.||I’ll address the obvious first. Gallup has a reputation for its high crime. This hotel is located on the east end of town away from homes and most businesses. There are 4 other hotels nearby plus a Dennys, bbq place and gas station. The location felt safe, security was not super obvious but they were patrolling. ||From my 3rd floor view I saw many pick up trucks with toolboxes and other items in the bed. 2 cars parked next to us had bikes in a bike rack. A few people had trailers with items strapped down. All in all it looked like a bunch of people doing what we were doing, just passing through. ||This hotel also only has 2 exterior doors you can access from the outside, the front lobby and one other door. All other exterior doors are locked from the outside.||There is no where in America that is inherently safe, this place is no worse than anywhere else. ||Hot water was another frequent complaint about this hotel from others. We had 5 people and we all had hot water. Maybe it was a problem they fixed.||I’m actually surprised at how low this hotel ranks on TA. I would absolutely stay there again.

This hotel has it all together. The front desk staff was so awesome and the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at a Marriott hotel. Highly recommend and I will only stay here when I am in Gallup going forward! Great job!

Coffee splatter on bedroom wall, towel holder pulled out from wall in bathroom. Room is the largest 2 bedroom “suite” that is offered at this location, at approximately $250 per night. Took pics and showed to front desk clerk whom, before I could even describe the findings in the picture, interrupted with “well I can’t give you a discount!” Didn’t ask for one nor expect one, and only wanted to show the front desk the pics so that I wouldn’t be blamed for any damage. Room 201 is showing signs of extreme wear and tear, an obvious disregard of guest satisfaction from housekeeping and desk staff. Never will give this place a second look again when passing through Gallup to Las Vegas!

From the time we arrived we knew this be our go to hotel in Gallup! Kendall was warm and friendly and everything went great….pool and hot tub was sparkling! Exercise appears to be closed for awhile. Our room was immaculate, towels super soft and the shower had excellent pressure. Breakfast ladies were prepared and as welcoming as Kendall. Noticed lots of security patrolling the complex since our last stay…nice

Salvador was amazing. He felt like a nice old uncle that made my trip fantastic. Took care of my boys, made great recommendations for a local hangout and park. He is awesome and took care of my numerous requests. Thank you Salvador.

My room was great, the Lady at the front desk was super friendly and nice. The only downfall was the hot tub not working but the pool was nice and warm.

You can almost always count on Marriott properties to be clean, friendly, and offer a good breakfast in the morning. This one did not disappoint in those regards. We were disappointed the pool and hot tub were closed, which is the second time we’ve encountered that at a TownePlace Suites in the past week. Also, please include body or hand lotion in the room—this location is in the high desert!
