Very nice Marriott brand hotel. They could use some updates with the furniture and some new paint as well. The staff were great. I had a little glitch with my reservation and Jessica took care of it right away. I will stay here again when I am in Lawrence. Great location. 👍 Very close to bars and great restaurants.
Positive: Truly one of the best hotels I've stayed in. The layout, amenities, climate control, cleanliness, comfort, peacefulness, breakfast, parking - it was all wonderful. And the staff was even better -friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable. A great stay! Negative: Honestly, there's nothing Towneplace Suites in Lawrence could do to improve my stay there. I'll be back.
This was my second visit to the Marriott, primarily chosen as our company frequently recommends it to its traveling employees. My initial stay was largely satisfactory, except for the recurring issue of missing towels despite multiple requests. However, during my most recent stay, I did receive the requested towels. I'd like to acknowledge the excellent service provided by the front desk staff, particularly Eli and a new team member, whose name I regrettably missed. Their professionalism and efficiency were notable and certainly contributed positively to my experience. Nonetheless, there were a few concerns that merit mentioning. On one morning during my stay, there was a lack of hot water in the hotel. While I opted not to report this issue directly to the front desk, another guest did so in the lobby. Regrettably, the manner in which the manager responded to the guest's concern left much to be desired. Perhaps the manager had grown weary of hearing the same complaint, as it seemed empathy was lacking on that particular morning. In fairness, the issue was resolved by the evening, and I extend my appreciation to the individual responsible for resolving it. On my final night, I experienced an unexpected early wake-up call. The alarm clock in my room inexplicably went off at 6 am, which was rather disruptive considering I had been looking forward to a bit of rest. It would be advisable for the housekeeping staff to ensure all alarm clocks are disabled after each guest's departure and that preset alarms are reset. Despite these inconveniences, I was relieved to find that the shower continued to provide hot water, allowing for a comfortable morning routine. I believe there's room for improvement in certain aspects of the Marriott experience, but I am also hopeful that these issues can be addressed for future guests.
Platinum member always Marriott and I travel a lot. This has to be the smallest TV I have seen in years. Thin walls hard to sleep and light leaks bad through the curtains. One night stay... I will try Springhill next trip. Great staff checking in and it is close to food and drinks.
Decent hotel - solid 4 in a small town. Internet is very, very slow and almost non-existent. Rooms are nice with kitchenettes and full refrigerators. The pans in the room are highly abused, however, so cooking is a bit of a challenge. Cleaning is non-existent. No service, even after asking. One day, however, they did drop off towels, even though I asked for full service (was there for a week). This, sadly, has become the norm in all big chain hotels, so it's hard to complain about it. Would love to see the price drop a bit because of it, though. Didn't eat the breakfast, so I cant comment. No other issues and, it's the best place in town - so you could do worse.
Cute area because you are close to Massachusetts Ave. But, not the best hotel experience. Takes 8-10 min for hot water to start in the shower and it’s only Nov. wonder how it feels in the depths of winter 🥶Hot water seems to run out if you have more than 1 person showering in the morning. There’s also a large floor drain in this unit (it’s a handicap unit) and it smells like sewage. There’s also a strong smell of sewage in the main stairwell going down to the lobby.
I want to start by noting that I am a Marriott Platinum Elite. member; I am fiercely brand loyal. I'm also a proud Jayhawk alumni and was excited to come home, show my kids the beautiful campus and spend time in the greatest college town in America. Yet all of that was really disrupted by the fact that we were given a room at this property with black mold. Around the entire perimeter of the bathroom, you can find black residue. It's not dirt, it's not mud--it's mold. Both my wife and my son had continual illness for the rest of our trip due to this. When we reached out to management, we waited nearly a week for a response. Then, what we got back was a stock message "we're sorry your stay was not up to standard" message--no thought, no intentionality and certainly no apology. As a "kind gesture" they gave us 10,000 points back on our purchase (less than a 1/3 of a one night stay). Again, I'm fiercely brand loyal and have never questioned that. Now I do. And I think you should question staying at this property in Lawrence, KS.
Location was great, right down town, and the room was nice, and very clean. The front desk girl, Katie, was super helpful. She helped me find my way around town and the check in went smoothly.

Front desk staff was extremely friendly, helpful and made sure our stay/experience was top notch. Hotel was quiet! Breakfast was hot and ready on time. Would definitely recommend. Great job to the entire team!!!
A lovely little cocktail bar with so many great drinks itâs hard to pick just one. Staff was friendly and attentive. A nice change from the college bars you find on Mass St and absolutely worth checking out when youâre in town. I canât wait to
Wonderful off leash park! Even when the parking lot is full, you are never overwhelmed by other dogs or people. You can choose to go to the fenced-in park, the off leash play area where most dogs hang out, or you can go walk the trails and more likel
Great place for live music. It's much cleaner and more open than when I was going there frequently 20 years ago. It has been a long time since I had been there and I was really surprised by how much nicer of a place it is now.
Lawrence Nature Park has some pretty awesome trails. Going down the first trailhead from the parking lot will lead you to several different paths you can take. The ground is uneven! Easier for walking, but not so much running. Multiple areas where y

This is for sure my favorite sushi place ever! The fish is so fresh and sometimes itâs even so soft that it melts on your mouth. The price is great for the amount of sushi you get and itâs quality. Iâm also allergic to shellfish so they adapt i
Yello Sub is consistently great! Their sandwiches are SO good every single time and the service is always friendly. It really doesn't take long to get your food if you walk in and order, but if you order online, it will be ready when you arrive.
Best neighborhood dive bar in Lawrence! If you are a townie or want to steer clear of college kids this is the place to go. All the bartenders are great!
