TownePlace Suites by Marriott Aiken Whiskey Road - Hotel in Aiken - 1008 Monterey Dr, USA

To all potential guests: The area is very busy, but near all shopping plazas! The hotel itself under the name MARRIOTT is not what I expected MARRIOTT to be, I stayed at several! When we arrive to the hotel trash is overflowing outside. Upon entry to the hotel, the hotel staff depending on the one you spoke to was not customer service oriented. We stayed 5 nights. They expect you to use, the bathroom trash bags for all trash so be expected to bring your own! If you ask for a better bag that was previously provided from an employee you are asked what’s their name you shouldn’t be getting them bags! They did have 4 plates, forks, knives etc. They only had one pot in our room and one measuring cup. The stove top is electric and takes about 30 minutes to boil water, so expect to dine out every night and not try to cook like you’re at home! The tub had hair in it and the couch had a tear in it and was not a pull out ( KING SUITE) Breakfast was not much of a selection everything is individually wrapped and two days in the row the same was served. The breakfast hosts watch TV, hoover, and talk while you eat, and by far give you any privacy! Long story short, we will not be coming back!

We stay on Jan 2 2024...The house keeper walk in our rm not once but twice. I was so disappointed that I called the front desk to informed them all they said was we sorry and what can I do for you. I said you can credit the rm. They said we can't do I was so dissatisfied with the service so I asked for the manger they said the manger will call she call and said because you are on a discounted rate we want be doing anything for you I was to outrage. What do this have to do with satisfying the customer I will be writing corporate about this staff...also the room was dirty upon check in and they moved me and it was next to the elevator next morning the maintenance man was up hammering thing at 8am...this need a whole new staff

Does not accomadate well for extended stay personnel with pets, like cats. I have cleaned, vacuumed, taken my own trash out, made my bed. Example- They can take your towels (hit or miss still) but don't replace it or leave it up front like they may say multiple times. If you are relocating from out of town or state, please look into another hotel that will take care of you and make it stress free. Policies in place work for short stay only - The gentleman up front has been the only helpful person and easier to talk to and discuss issues with. Nervous about leaving soon - due to cats, I read I may get hit with another fee even if room is left how you got it, I was told I will not, but not sure. Just beware and ask questions please

Stayed 8 nights. Woke up 5am on Sunday to no electricity. Had zero answers and had to get clothed and ready in pitch dark and no amenities. Walked down stairs in pitch dark to talk to desk because no answer on phone. They had no idea what was going on. Workers at desk friendly but chaotic. Returned that evening and they moved us into one of a few rooms that had electricity. Lobby and all amenities without electricity still. Moved a days worth of stuff into new room. Still no hot water, no tv, no internet (a HUGE problem). We had light and air. No towels...asked for towels and they gave us unfolded towels. Finally to bed after COLD shower and woke up to no breakfast, no internet, no washer and dryer that we needed. No lights in hallways or lobby. HOT. and then the new room electricity went off for the day and we left til that evening. That evening, we went back and electricity restored. They had us move back into our original room. It was warm in room but we recovered by bed time but realized we had lost food in fridge. It took several days to talk to "General Manager" which was a waste of time. She was rude, she was defensive, never apologized and refused to even consider any compensation refund for the two days we were massively inconvenience. I have to add that every single person in the hotel we encountered other than the General Manager was very pleasant and were trying to hold it together while sweathing and working from a pencil and pad and flashlight. I paid my bill thinking that SURELY I would have better luck with Mariott Customer Service and/or Mariott Corporation, but turns out these hotels are franchised and will not overturn their General Manager decisions no matter how unreasonable they find them. And most everyone I talked to with Marriott found the General Manager's decision unreasonable. Everyone I talked to outside of Marriott found the decision to be theft because they did not provide us with the service we were charged for. I agree and had zero desire to speak with the General Manager again as her only reply was that they couldn't help what happened and tried to do their best. Well...the workers did work hard to figure out the chaos. They relocated an entire parking lot full of people to another hotel but we were not offered that choice. I did get 10,000 points from General Manager. Enought to buy about a half of a night at a hotel. You do the math and create your own acceptance of this situation. We were MASSIVELY affected by not having services two days and it took several days afterward to get their food service back and their towels folded -- we never got roomservice or new towels again. A huge company like Marriott should be ASHAMED and take an account of who and what they have representing their name regardless of the fact that it's a franchise. I have reached out to the Franchise owners, SYCAMORE Investment group out of Georgia.

Good place to rest, nice suites full kitchen good service. The only issue i had was the bed, not very comfortable. But overall good place.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. They took great care of us during our extended stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

The "business" center needs serious upgrading! The Internet browser (Internet Explorer) is way out of date! So much so that Gmail will not open. So I was unable to access or print important documents that were essential to business-related reason I stayed in the area. Sadly the hotel management is aware of this problem but hasn't done anything to resolve.

Breakfast is mediocre at best. No eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, etc. Basically, nothing hot except the coffee. Oatmeal, juice, cold cereal, muffins, etc.
