Toro Kitchen + Bar - Spanish restaurant in San Antonio - 1142 E Commerce St, USA

I love this place. I come here often. Food & ambiance are always amazing. BUT we went last week for my husband’s birthday (with a reservation). Didn’t get seated until 45 minutes later. Other people were getting seated before us without reservations, including a large table. There was an empty table that was eventually offered to us, but it took them a while to accommodate us or make us feel seen; we always had to wave the hostess down for an update. A little disappointing considering it was a birthday (I guess they don’t read the notes). I understand they get busy, but it’s little things like this that separate good from great experiences – especially when they’re charging above-average prices. Otherwise, great food & ambiance.

The food was great. I’ve had some Spanish food here and there but I’ve never been able to explore as much. The prices was very reasonable for the type of food they were serving. Especial thanks to our waiter/bartender Gabriel. Your service stellar to the point of upselling several items. We loved all of your recs.

Very nice Spanish place with awesome atmosphere and excellent food. Try their blackened paella and pan tomate. There was music inside, but they also seem to have very nice outside sitting.

Hadn't been to Toro (downtown) for a few years. We had an excellent meal of tapas, have to get the dates, and Toro paella. It was all delicious. There were 4 of us and we were full with 4 tapas and a small paella. Sangria is refreshing and we tried a few of these other cocktail offerings. We look forward to returning.

Cosy spot even during the day. We had spanish paella which was a pure delish! And the patatas bravas appetizer was just perfect!!

We were looking for a new Epicurean experience, so we tried Toro Kitchen + Bar. We came around 4 pm. There were tables available, and there was happy hour. Before we go to the food and drinks, we want to give kudos to our server. She was very knowledgeable of the menu. Service was top notch. We had the Sangria. We also fulfilled one of our foodie bucket list, Jamon Iberico de Bellota. We also tried several tapas. Another highlight was the paella. Overall, it was a great experience. The ambiance was really good. We will definitely go back, and try out the rest of the menu.

Had a great time with friends here. The food was excellent. We mainly did tapas and paella. The servers were very attentive parking was tricky because there were other events going on downtown. I had the chefs charcuterie plate which was very good. I also had the bacon wrapped dates which were a nice mix of sweet and savory. I also tried the tacos which were a pleasant surprise. I would recommend this place if you are looking for good Spanish food.

Loved our experience in Barcelona so much we started searching for something local. Nice atmosphere but wish seating wasn’t so tight but the food was pretty good. Definitely going to visit again and also try the other location.
