Good place if you need a quick bite. The tipsy chick and fried avocado tacos were very good. We got a trailer park ( make it trashy), and the crossroads was just ok. However the republican was weird and awkward to eat. Didn't pair well together. The street corn as a side was pretty good also.
It was my first time to Torchy's Tacos on South Congress Ave. And I really love it! The first thing was the cashier.. she got lots of patience and well knowledge about Manu and helped me to choose the best shrimp tacos I ever had. Second.. she and her manager were so nice and kind at the time to pay. Third... the tacos 🌮 😋 was the cherry on top of the cake.. tasty, fresh, and delicious!! Hand-made corn tortillas and super crispy fried shrimp. Highly recommend. Price: affordable according to the Tacos 🌮. Location: South Congress Avenue. Parking: plenty free parking. Customer service: EXCELLENT!!
We visited Torchy's for the first time and loved it. The taco varieties are really inventive and fun. Friends told us about Torchy's "secret" menu, so we asked for it and ordered a few tacos from the secret menu. Everything was delicious. Torchy's will be a go-do restaurant any time I visit Austin.
Came here for a quick lunch on my visit to Austin. I loved the wide variety of tacos and different sauces. I opted for the tipsy chick with a side of bacon bourbon jam and it was well stuffed, juicy, and flavorful. My friends got the shrimp tacos, pulled carnitas, and beyond meat tacos which were all very good as well. Service was fast and friendly!
We have not been to Torchy's in a while, but since we had an out of town guest, we wanted to bring her to an Austin institution. The food has always been consistent and fairly good. I mostly come for the salsas. We ordered 3 tacos and chips & guacamole. I typically ask for extra salsas at the front register where we pay. The young lady working on September 21 st @2:00 PM, gave us only 2 salsas. When I asked her for extra salsas, she gave me some major attitude as if I was asking her for her personal stash. I had to ask my partner to get her to give me additional salsas. And even then she doled out one at a time... I know this is just a job, not a career, but can we be more respectful of our customers. Thank you.
Flagship location in a happening part of town. All of the usual tacos and chips. Classic building design (renovated from a local hamburger joint). Not a particularly large location, but with relatively decent parking versus its size. Cool little devil!
This place is a great choice for any meal in the day! I came here for breakfast tacos and was NOT disappointed. The food and options are solid and the queso is great! There's plenty of parking on the street and additional spots behind the building. There's a fair amount of seating inside and outside, and plenty to look at on this street after you eat. Make sure to visit if you're in the area!
