San Leon TX has many seafood restaurants, but Topwater Grill is definitely one of the best ones! Their food is always so fresh and flavorful. We can’t help but come back for more. They have the best fried platters here!!! You have to give those a try if you can!
Diana was awesome. She was very attentive & friendly, she helped make dining a pleasure. That said, the food was exceptional. We had the bobbers(crab balls) shrimp cocktail, a cup of seafood gumbo, and corn chowder. We shared everything and it was very good. All the food was excellent. Needless to say we will be back there very soon.
The coconut shrimp are absolutely delicious! The boudin balls are amazing! The raw oysters were a decent size and actually served cold, I've been to several places where the raw oysters were warm 🤢 I attended a wedding shower in the upstairs room and Ryan was the one taking care of us. He was absolutely amazing and kept a smile on his face. He had a couple of helpers and they were amazingly helpful and sweet as well. They were extremely patient and did an amazing job. The atmosphere of the upstairs room was a tad dull. There were lights burnt out so it was a bit dark in one area. I think they did the best that they could with what they had. I was extremely pleased with the food and service and I can't wait to go back.
This is such a fun little restaurant! The decor is really cute. We sat at the bar until a table was ready, the drinks were great and the bartender was very friendly. We sat outside at one of the glider tables and that was so fun! I had no idea the benches were swings so that was a fun surprise. Our server was super nice and helpful with some great suggestions. Our food was great, we really enjoyed the whole experience and will be back.
In town last weekend visiting my folks and asked where they wanted to go to lunch. Topwater Grill was the instant choice. The parking lot was absolutely packed when we pulled up. Great, I thought. There was a fishing tournament going on I was sure we'd be finding another place to eat. Parking in the back of the parking lot I walked in to find out how long the wait would be, and was told that we could be seated immediately. I was still a bit apprehensive about our visit as the dining room / bar area was loud and crowded. But the hostess walked us to the back of the dining room where it was much less busy and a whole lot quieter. Our waitress was not overly friendly or talkative, but she WAS very prompt and I never had to ask for a refill. Please don't misunderstand, we were checked on often and our plates arrived without delay, but we didn't get the same conversation that the table next to us got. And that is the sum total of the negative experience we had. Now speaking of the food. . . . . . . well, my mother, who is allergic to practically everything and is therefore pretty critical, reported proudly that everything was extremely excellent! In short, the food was great. Everything was prepared as ordered, substitutions and all. The fried fish was crispy and light. The grilled snapper was lightly seasoned and came off the skin beautifully. And my only regret about the grilled shrimp is that there weren't more of them. More visits to Topwater Grill are in my future, and I'll just leave it at that
It is HOT here in Texas! The food is plated nicely and the portions are generous. The flavor was there but could have had a lil bit more jazzing up! Overall we can not complain. Come out and visit. I bet this place is a lot of fun on a Holiday or on any given weekend!
This is a cool looking place. The scenery is the Galveston bay complete with ship traffic and a couple of oil rigs. The outdoor seating is clean and well organized. Very spacious and intimate at night. The service has been exemplary so far with very attentive wait staff. But the food is mid on a good day. The appetizers are poorly seasoned and low quality. The entrees are good sized portions with unique sides like squash and zucchini. But the seasoning just isn't there. Dessert is the best thing on the menu. Key lime pie was very good and a chocolate cake with mousse filling was a hit. Take the in-laws here, but only if they're the ones paying.
Nice atmosphere. We had a reservation for a party of 10, and they seated us by a window with a great view of the water. The service was great. Shrimp and oysters were fresh and fried just right. Big portions. Good prices, and my margaritas were tasty. They let us bring in a cake and bright plays and silverware for us. Will definitely be back.
Iâve been living in San Leon for a few years now and all the locals have mentioned how amazing Gilhooleyâs is! I finally took the time to try it out myself and I was definitely not disappointed. I got the Shrimp Stick dinner option which came wit
Spot on at Big Spot! We had driven 3,000 miles across America in our RV and stayed at a lot of places, this was now our final day and we had found the best RV Park of them all. Linda and Marlene were great and really helpful. The whole place was just
It was my bday.. I had a fun time among the locals and even had a dance with a local named Dave.. he was a perfect gentleman.. ty Dave! Ur a good dancer! Fun time.. margarita was also good!
I went to eat here a few days ago and got the hamburger special and I was soooo disappointed. My burger was not cooked all the way. The tomatoes were mushy and slimy and the lettuce was old and wilted and had black spots!!! The burger was sliding all
