Tops'l as a property is fantastic. We love it. Have been there a few times now so why 2 stars? The rating is for a specific unit 705 at the Tides. We stayed at this unit, and in my view , it's a neglected unit by the owners. 1. No comfortable lounge chairs in the balcony. They had hard wood chairs only. The main feature of the balcony is that it faces the beautiful ocean but you can't sit here comfortably. Huge disappointment in this regard. 2. The furniture is terrible, especially the couch ( old lumpy leather and near impossible to sit straight on) and the storage is non existing ( no proper drawers in the master), no luggage rack to hold your bags, no hooks in the bathrooms to hold your clothes while you shower / change. 3. Sink in the master was broken through our whole stay. We got a cheaper than usual rate so it's fine from a cost perspective but it's a very neglected unit. Be aware when booking 705 at the Tides!!!

We enjoyed our stay so much. The condo was very clean and had everything you could possibly need. The ocean view was spectacular and loved spending our days being beach bums. The beach service was very nice and so glad they had it so we didn't have to carry chairs down. Thanks for a great vacation!!

So wonderful 💖 decor was beautiful. Guest services were so attentive. Great location. Pool and hot tub sparkling clean. Absolutely 💯 loved my stay. Beds sooooo comfortable. My daughter and her husband and six kids have been coming here for years.

So our room this round was honestly great. Last room we had smelled awful, which is the reason for the four stars. The beach however is super limited if you don’t purchase for the super cramped beach service. Note they do not restrict smoking or speakers, so it can be loud and smell awful. If you bring your own you need to be prepared to walk. The bar offers souvenir cups, with the first being strong and great, every refill may as well have been water. They are all about your money is my impression. Not your experience.

The Topsl resort property is great. The grounds are well kept and the buildings while older are generally in good condition. However I can not recommend this beach because they have sold out their entire beach front property to a chair and umbrella company. There is little to no room for visitors to sit without paying for chair. If you want a great beach experience choose somewhere else.

Returning customers and every time we stayed here we had the best experience. Rooms were nice exactly as pictured. This time we were in room 304 @The Summit. Kitchen has everything you need rooms are clean and comfortable. One this that I didn’t like about the room is it doesn’t have the option to look the front door from inside. So my 16 month old was able to open the door and got out. We literally had to block the door with the wagon . Also the chair and umbrella were little pricey to rent.

We returned to Tops'l after 28 years and the beach is still gorgeous, if more crowded than ever. We stayed at the Tides and the unit was in need of some maintenance which would have made the stay more comfortable. Management was notified but did not follow through. Also, the security guard was quite aggressive about parking. (My handicap sticker was not properly displayed on the last of seven days in the same spot and that earned me a sticker and an arrogant schadenfreude grin from the guard who waited for me to see the sticker.). We will return to Destin, but probably not to Tops'l.

An older resort but you can see they are doing a lot of improvements. The unit we stayed in was beautiful and had amazing views. My kids spent most of their time in the pools. We also enjoyed playing putt putt golf and I loved that all the equipment is supplied. A lot of options for eating nearby and less than a mile from the village of Baytown Wharf.
