If you are looking for a first class B&B on the Maine coast, look no further. Professionally run, clean and well maintained, with an excellent gourmet breakfast. Easy walking to the charming town of Boothbay Harbor. The views of the harbor are incredible, especially if you choose the right room. (Room 23 for example). We have been to other B&Bs with more personalized and warm service than this, but I still give them my top rating. Excellent
This was our third time staying at Topside Inn and it never disappoints. The owners continue to make improvements each year and honestly, it is just a fabulous experience. The vibe is contemporary but warm. There is outdoor space with gardens and a view overlooking the water. Breakfasts are a feast, unique delicious sweet and savory options all freshly prepared by the staff. |Downtown shops and restaurants are walkable as long as one can manage the steep hill.
Our anniversary celebration was perfect at the Topside Inn. Start to finish we had a fabulous stay. The room was beautiful with a cozy fireplace and the patio view was hard to beat. One of our highlights were the Cookie Du Jour....a different homemade cookie everyday. It was difficult to pick a favorite, but we definitely looked forward to each one. The gourmet breakfast was another highlight. Everything was fresh and delicious. My husband especially liked the banana French toast, but I'm still dreaming about the carrot cake pancakes with maple cream cheese drizzle. Mark, Buzz and Rebecka were gracious hosts. They made great suggestions, and their fabulous website got my planning off to a great start. The entire staff was awesome. The location is perfect being a bit away from the hustle and bustle of town, but close enough to walk within minutes into town. If your travel plans bring you to Boothbay Harbor, look no farther than Topside Inn for your accommodations. You will be in for a luxurious treat!
Absolutely perfect spot for couples. Beautiful view and so peaceful. Breakfast was sublime. Charming quaint town is an easy walk down the hill. This was our first time to Maine and we are staying at different locations from Kennebunkport up to Acadia and we would definitely come back here but next time it won’t be for just one night. Wonderful stay.
While traveling along the Maine coast, we had the opportunity to stay at the Topside Inn. What a treasure!!!! When we checked in we were welcomed with a delicious drink and a savory treat. The main house has this lovely porch that overlooks the harbor and folks were relaxing in their rocking chairs reading books. It was pure heaven and I couldn't wait to join in. And then there is the breakfast ..... OVER THE TOP fantastic!!! Delicious, beautifully presented and both Buzz and Mark, the owners, are so passionate about their venture and it shows. I had asked Buzz about the delicious zucchini cake I had upon arrival and he showed me the recipe in their cookbook and told me I could just make a copy. I appreciated that he didn't push a sale of his book so, I had to buy it! And did I mention the cookie jar, that is available in the afternoon/evening for a little treat? My only regret is that I left before the afternoon cookies were available on departure day.
The views of Boothbay Harbor are absolutely stunning!||My knees make it difficult for me to do stairs so they were very accommodating in giving us a room on the ground floor. The balcony had a gorgeous view of the harbor. The staff are friendly and helpful. ||The town is a short walk down the hill. Cute shops and restaurants surrounding the harbor are nearby.
We have been visiting Boothbay Harbor since 2015 to celebrate our anniversary. We have stayed at the former Welch House and the Greensleaf Inn in the past but stayed at the Topside Inn for the first time this October 2023. I can’t believe it took us this long to find this gem!! The inn is simply gorgeous! The views, newly built bar, fireplace, amazing breakfast and afternoon cookies are all incredible!! The staff and management are fantastic!! There is nothing I can critique. The Topside Inn is the only place we will stay going forward. Thank you so much!!! We can’t wait to come back!!!
Can't say enough positive things about our stay. No detail too small. Lovely people. Gorgeous views and convenient to harbor. Fantastic breakfasts. Great bar scene.
