First time here, loved the friendly service and their Valentine waffle! I got it without whipped cream; it was so yummy. Just the right kind of sweet with my coffee. I also liked the design of the place. It is modern and has indoor/outdoor seating.
The best coffee we've had in US so far.
This place is clean and calm. There was a super kind guy behind the counter. Coffee was delicious with great latte art. We couldn't resist trying their waffles. Must say that they were finger-licking good.
So if you love top-notch coffee and waffles this is place for you!
It's a pretty good cafe. The coffee is good. The waffles are good. It's next to a lot of big fancy Penn buildings, so the scenery is a little industrial instead of quaint and cozy.
The egg on top of my waffle was a masterpiece. I'll be looking up how to emulate it.
Hands down my favorite Philly coffee shop. Top Hat has amazing service, productive ambience, good coffee. The waffles are yummy too!
I love the coffee here, it's some of the absolute best in Philadelphia. My husband and I love trying the new pour overs. We also just love the calming vibes inside and the staff is always a gem. The waffles are wonderful too. The only thing that makes me a little disappointed is that despite some savory waffles combinations, there isn't really a savory breakfasts option here on the weekends. My issue is the "savory" waffles are savory ingredients put onto a very sweet waffle. I recognize a lot of people like that sweet/savory but sometimes I just don't want that sugar. I would love it if there was a savory base waffle basically. That would make this place heaven.
This place has some of the most delicious waffles I’ve ever had, I can’t wait to come back and try all the other waffle creations on the menu. The coffee is pretty good too. They have a decent amount of seating, so it’s a great place to get some work done as well, although it can get busy at times.
Come for the coffee, stay for the waffles! Latte was smooth and beautifully poured. The Philly Philly liege waffle with cinnamon cream cheese and was stellar. Never would have thought of this combo! Slightly crispy, slightly sweet but not overly so. Will 100% be returning to try a different waffle combo and looking forward to try a mocha!
I FINALLY got a chance to visit the Top Hat Coffee Lounge University City location. I've been buying their beans for a few years now and looked forward to this visit for months!
WOW! Everything was absolutely delicious! We started with a chocolate croissant and had the angry waffle and beginegg cheese!
My date had an iced latte and I enjoyed a cinnamon raisin cookie smoothie. She LOVED the latte and this smoothie tasted EXACTLY like a cookie!
We cannot say enough of the great service, drinks and food. They truly have something AWESOME here!

Three Graces is one of my favorite coffee shops, because the coffee is amazing. I recommend the Strawberry Latte⦠itâs so unique and fresh. The food is pretty limited so donât plan on eating breakfast here!

I did an OBA class (drop-in) while visiting Philadelphia in January. I read some comments here that they're not "drop-in friendly", but that's not my experience at all!
Signing up was very easy. At the reception I was asked what my fitness level (ok,
